🌟 Connecting Classroom Learning with Real-World Discovery 🌟
To complement their Science and Technology learning this term, students enjoyed an exciting excursion to the Queensland Museum last Friday, including a visit to SparkLab.
Students explored a range of fascinating exhibits and immersed themselves in SparkLab's interactive STEM gallery, where they investigated scientific concepts through hands-on challenges and activities. The visit provided a fantastic opportunity to extend classroom learning, spark curiosity, and deepen students' understanding of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
A wonderful day of discovery, exploration, and fun was had by all! πŸ”¬βš™οΈπŸš€βœ¨

πŸŽ‰ STEM Challenge and Under 8’s Day a Great Success! πŸŽ‰
Our school was proud to host its annual STEM Challenge and Under 8’s Day, bringing together students, families, and community members for a day of learning, creativity, and fun.
Students in Years 3 to 6 participated in a range of hands-on STEM activities and showcased their innovative thinking by presenting design ideas aimed at solving real-world problems. Their creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills were on full display.
Engineers from Stanwell and STEM Ambassadors from Nanango SHS joined students throughout the day, sharing their expertise and inspiring future innovators through hands-on STEM activities.
At the same time, young families from our local communities joined our Early Years students to enjoy a variety of engaging, hands-on activities designed to encourage learning through play and exploration.
The day was made even more enjoyable with a delicious sausage sizzle, generously provided by our school's P&C Association.
Thank you to all the students, staff, families, visiting schools, volunteers, and our P&C for helping make the event such a memorable and successful celebration of learning and community spirit. 🌟

πŸ–οΈ The beach came to the bush! 🌊
Students enjoyed an exciting visit from Surf Life Saving Queensland, learning valuable skills to help them stay safe at the beach.
They explored how to recognise safe swimming areas, understand beach conditions, and learnt about marine animals that frequent our beaches, including some that can sting swimmers. Students also discovered why it is so important to keep our beaches free from litter, helping to protect wildlife and preserve our beautiful coastal environments.
Thank you to Surf Life Saving Queensland for delivering such an engaging and informative session.
