Great to see some recent repairs and maintenance completed at Tennis Club facilities, especially considering they are so well used by locals.
Repairs done reinstated conduit piping along top of court fencing (which had detached...probably in recent storms).
Painting of historic clubhouse buildings plus re-varnishing of newer extension building. Good to see maintenance works being done - as hopefully on maintenance schedule (and not due to customer calls!).
Even so, thanks to community members who look after the place and keep it in good stead. Along with those who treat the place with the respect it deserves. We're lucky to have such a lovely facility so close to hand as evidenced by the number of users seen there. Look forward to seeing a few Xmas celebration picnics in the gardens soon too.
So, Merry Xmas to all and Happy New Year.

GET IN QUICK! >>DUE SUNDAY 7 SEP 12.59PM ....Sorry but received late notification on this program for local Parkland Improvements.
Seems to be simply a quick form to fill out if you've something in mind...not a full blown submission by any means. Anyone can do it. GO TO IT! Save yourself some time and check the list of eligible suburbs to see if you qualify.
Comes out of Plan for Victoria - well the urban parts of it at least. Sadly, not a cracker in this for rural areas. Bit rude that!
The Pick My Park program invites the community to tell what upgrades are needed to existing parks, as well as identify where underused land could be transformed into vibrant green spaces.
Pick My Park is focused on areas surrounding 60 Activity Centres across Melbourne, the 15 Priority Precincts, including the Suburban Rail Loop precincts, as well as the established areas of Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong – aligning with the focus areas of the Plan for Victoria.
Parks and green spaces are essential for health and wellbeing, particularly as suburbs grow and change. The Plan for Victoria consultation identified leafy green streets with trees, parks, and open spaces, as well as vibrant and social places for people to connect and thrive, as top priorities for Victorians.
Pick My Park Share your ideas for new or improved parks in eligible Melbourne, Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong suburbs.

What is it about walking? We know walking is:
✅ good for your health
✅ good for your hip pocket
✅ good for the environment
✅ good for local businesses
✅ good for community connection
It’s also the most popular form of recreation in Victoria. So how can we support our community to walk, whether assisted or independently, more often to more destinations?
Tell us your ideas to help us plan for a safer, more connected pedestrian network as we look to write a new Walking Strategy that will guide Council’s walking infrastructure and activities.
Our Active Transport Team will be available for a chat at this weekend's Yarraville Festival from 10am-2pm, look for us at the Council stall.
