Today is World Teachers' Day ✨

World Teachers' Day is held on last Friday of October each year in Australia, Led nationally by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL).

This year's theme is "Shine a light on Teachers" recognising the people who show up every day to guide, encourage and support students through every stage of school.

Today we recognise and celebrate all of the teachers we work alongside to support students in their transition from school, and the role you play in helping them find their path forward.

Thank you for everything you do, we hope you all have a wonderful day 💙

Last Thursday, Mai-Wel hosted the October CEO Connect with Business Hunter at Crystalbrook Kingsley, bringing business and community leaders together for a conversation about inclusive employment 💙

The evening explored how businesses can create meaningful employment opportunities for people with disability, build more inclusive workplaces and access a broader talent pool.

Our team shared their insights, alongside Joel Gardiner from Industrial Gaskets & Sealants Pty Ltd, who spoke about what inclusive employment and the partnership with Mai-Wel has meant for his business.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. If you would like to learn more about inclusive employment, get in touch at mwlfs.com.au/contact-us

Ebony, a Mai-Wel Parent Pathways participant, has recently been offered a place in the TAFE NSW Certificate IV in Mental Health!

This is a meaningful step toward her goal of working in the mental health sector and supporting others in her community.

Getting here was not without its challenges, though. When Ebony first came to our Parent Pathways program, she was navigating some difficult personal circumstances including housing instability and financial stress while caring for her young family.

With the support of her mentor, she worked through those barriers, connected with the right services and secured stable housing 🏠

With stability in place, Ebony was able to turn her focus to her future, and her determination to keep going through it all has made this moment possible! Well done, Ebony 💙
