🚒🔥 Smoke near Barraba Road

Motorists travelling on Barraba Road between Barraba and Manilla may notice smoke in the area from burning hay.

Fire crews are currently on scene working with heavy plant to safely manage and extinguish the involved hay. The fire is contained and there is no threat to the community.

Some hay will continue to burn and produce smoke through the night. Fire crews will remain on scene managing the fire and monitoring conditions.

Motorists are asked to drive with care around smoke and emergency vehicle movements in the area.

A well-prepared home can be easier for you or firefighters
to defend. A cleared area around your home reduces
your risk and means fire is less likely to spread to your
neighbours’ homes. Learn more at www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/
