From inspiring creative writing sessions amidst artwork to exploring the First Nations, Antarctica, and animal exhibits, our students had a wonderful day. They truly shone by embodying our MPS values of Connection, Courage, Growth, Respect and Responsibility every step of the way!

Hello!
Welcome to Term 4! A short (only 9 weeks) but busy term! This week is only 3 days for students with the Show Day public holiday on Thursday and a Professional Learning Day for Teachers on Friday. This Tuesday is our Yr 3-6 Swimming Carnival. Please see notices on Seesaw for more information. We are also only 3 weeks out from our Twilight Fair which is Friday 6th November!

Dear Volunteers,

Thank you for the valuable contribution you make to our school community.
DECYP has recently introduced a new online registration system, Engage with DECYP, which is now required for all volunteers, contractors and service providers.
If you are currently volunteering at our school, please ensure you complete your registration and all associated requirements in the new system by 7th November 2026. This applies to everyone, including those who have recently completed the previous safeguarding process.
The new registration process provides a simpler way for volunteers to work across DECYP schools and sites.
Instructions on how to register are attached. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.

Year 2 Firetail Finches have been exploring capacity in maths by getting nice and sandy! Due to the wild weather, they decided to bring the sandpit to the classroom thanks to the strong and dedicated volunteers who helped carry buckets of sand into the classroom. In groups, the students used uniform informal units such as spoons or cups to measure the capacity of different size containers. The spoon challenge proved to take a lot of concentration as the students carefully made sure each spoon had the same amount of sand whilst making sure not to lose track of how many spoons they used to fill up a container.

* Family Conversation (call the office tomorrow morning if you haven't made a time through School Interviews).

This afternoon, we were thrilled to welcome the Illawarra Jumping Jacks from Illawarra Primary School to Margate Primary School, where they impressed students with an energetic and inspiring skipping performance that showcased synchronised routines, advanced skipping skills. They demonstrated the benefits of staying active through Jump Rope for Heart while promoting teamwork, fitness and healthy lifestyles. Thank you to the Jumping Jacks!

Year 6 Jack Jumpers enjoyed a Japanese exchange with Kurigaoka Primary School in Nagano, Japan. Students created and presented a PowerPoint about the Margate and Margate Primary School before playing their fun three-hint quizzes, where students guessed iconic Australian animals, foods and places. Our Japanese friends also shared clues about their hometown of Nagano. Everyone participated enthusiastically and did their very best to communicate in a non-native language. These exchanges are a wonderful opportunity to build connections with students from another country and learn about different cultures.
