There's a new girl in town 😍🎨👏
Local hair salon Eclectic Styles Hair Studio has spruced up its entrance with a stunning mural by talented artist Pippa McManus Illustration and planter boxes thanks to the City's Placemaking Grants program.
Earlier this year, the City awarded grants to help improve local business shopfronts and enhance the City's town centres. Keep your eyes peeled for more completed projects 👀

We haven’t posted for a while! Welcome to new members.
What would everyone like to see at the park?

Planted a tomato seedling in the raised vegetable planters this week. I’ve also got some zucchini seeds waiting to germinate , which I’ll plant here too when ready.

The final peice of the park was installed today - the climbing frame and sand play station! Little Lucia is already enjoying the equipment. Thank you so much to City of Bayswater, Nina Fehlberg and Cr Elli Petersen-Pik, City of Bayswater - Maylands and Mt Lawley for organising our new play equipment.

We have light! 💡💡💡
Thank you to the City of Bayswater for installing one light bollard at the corner of the pathway and a light pole near the playground. So good to see lights reinstated in the park after years of darkness. Much safer for our community.

And the winner is..... Option 3!
This was the most popular option and will be installed in the next few months.
In other news there will be lighting added along the pathway. This is fantastic news as it will make the pathway and the park safer for our community.
Thanks to Nina City of Bayswater and Cr Elli Petersen-Pik, City of Bayswater - Maylands and Mt Lawleyfor your work in achieving these upgrades 😊

These are the three options of play equipment provided by the City of Bayswater. The chosen option will be placed in the empty section in the sandpit.
Please indicate which option you prefer by commenting Option 1, Option 2 or Option 3. You must advise of your preference by 12 noon next Monday 22 June. Thanks 😊

We’d like to thank Nina Fehlberg from City of Bayswater for visiting Margaret Reserve today. Cr Elli Petersen-Pik, City of Bayswater - Maylands and Mt Lawley , in response to community requests, asked the City to get in touch with WLMR regarding the play equipment in the park.
Nina suggested various play equipment options but the major stumbling block is funding and these pesky rocks (see photo). All play equipment requires fall zones and these rocks are in the way! In order to add more equipment, the first thing we have to do is move these rocks as indicated by the arrows.
Unfortunately the movement of these rocks and the play equipment itself will cost up to $20,000. It is a large sum which will take a huge effort to raise, especially during these Covid limiting times.
It was suggested the community raises the money to move the rocks. Nina is looking into options and we’ll see where we go from here.
Nina has requested if you have any queries to contact her on [email protected] or 9272 0970.

Thanks to the City of Bayswater for levelling the verge surrounds of the park and placing wood chips to improve the appearance. If you’ve driven past the park you know how difficult it is to view oncoming traffic. The verge improvement appears to have made this corner much safer. Big thumbs up! 👍

It’s been a while since our last post. We’re still working on getting lights into the park. Like so many things in life that seem simple; it isn’t 😆. We were aiming to place them on a tree but we may have to look at other options. We’ll keep you updated.
