Honoured to tell Telethon star Olivia that the Australian Government will contribute $6 million towards Telethon 2026.

This is Australia, and Western Australia, at its best.

People giving, volunteering, and helping others.

Funds raised through the 2026 Telethon will support 147 beneficiaries, 199 programs and services, 297 grants, 38 research projects and more than 3,000 pieces of equipment.

Team Australia has done us proud in Shanghai. Showing the world what Australian skills can do.

And I couldn’t be prouder of Team Western Australia! They have worn our green and gold with pride on the world stage. And now they’re home, ready for their next chapter.

As a young woman, Edith Cowan was denied access to higher education because of her gender.

Last night, in the heart of our city, Perth officially launched Edith Cowan University City Campus bearing her name.

A fulfillment of her vision that education should be available to all Australians.

$7.5 billion will return into the Australian economy from our investment, but its transformative impact is beyond measure.

It stands as a proud, permanent declaration that knowledge and learning belong to everyone.

I was proud to speak at the official launch last night.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible. The construction teams, the philanthropists, the academic and professional staff and the students who will go on to achieve more for themselves and our nation.

Spent the afternoon hearing from the next generation of young Australian leaders. (TL;DR: we are in good hands)

We spoke about leadership, the ups and downs of politics, how you stay true to yourself and how ideas turn into real change.

Their optimism for the future gave me energy.
