Today The Schoolbag Asia Pacific has established a partnership with Universidade Oriental Timor Lorosae (UNITAL)!

This is a big step for both organisations in supporting and improving education in Timor Leste!

Sandmans @ Brisbane Cultural Centre, Westend, The Caxton Hotel - September 30th 2012 Jess and Matty had an awesome time hanging out at the Brisbane Cultural Centre helping out Schoolbag with their guiness world record attempt, chilling out at Westend and gearing people up at The Caxton Hotel for today's NRL Grand Final.

This event was to raise awareness of education inequality and how the purchase of a $10 bag can make a difference to a child's education in Timor-Leste. Proceeds goes to filling a schoolbag with a year's worth of basic supplies for the children of Timor-Leste.

So proud of my friend De Gillett for coming up with the idea of the chalkboard event that involved our community and what fun they had! Well done to the Schoolbag Team - very proud of you!!!

The official count of yesterday's chalk drawings is 291! That's 120 more than the current world record! AMAZING!

A massive thank you to all of our supporters who came out today and supported our world record attempt by contributing beautiful chalk drawings! A special shout out to Elise Giles, Sarah Hazlehurst, Kam Vien, Janna Mallon, our film crew, our adjudicators and all of our amazing volunteers- without them, the day wouldn't have been possible.
