As I told the media today, it is really disappointing that the Allan Labor Government has let the parade fall away.

I support celebrating Australia Day as someone who firmly believes on this day we celebrate our democratic institutions, the foundations of our advanced economy and the traditions and customs which help characterise the way Australia is today.

No matter what your background, no matter where you have come from, no matter what your religion if any you observe, Australia Day can be both a day of reflection and a day of celebration. JP

This afternoon, local Liberal Party members in Prahran voted to select Rachel Westaway as our candidate for the Prahran by-election on 8th February.

Rachel is a proud local who lives in South Yarra with her husband, Simon, and their three children.

She’s been an active part of the community for over 10 years, volunteering at the Prahran Junior Football Club and Toorak Prahran Cricket Club.

As President of the Thai Australian Chamber, Rachel has worked to strengthen trade and relationships between Australia and Thailand.

Let’s elect Rachel to be part of my Liberal team in Spring St and start the change in Victoria.
