Belgrave Lantern Festival

Me and two other artists Nikki Wellington and Lisa von Muller are lucky enough to be part of another wonderful Yarra Ranges Council grant called Artist Garden.

We’ll once again be working with schools and people of all ages to add more wonder and delight to the Belgrave Lantern Parade in June.

For your chance to make something special, we’ll be running FREE workshops throughout April and May at the Belgrave Library.

We are especially looking for tweens and teenagers who love creating and would like to come along and make an element to add to the installation.

While the workshops are free, numbers are limited. If you’d like to take part, be sure to email us to secure your spot.

If you didn’t manage to buy a piece of Lantern Parade Merchandise we still have some Belgrave . All proceeds go towards the event .

How many towns in Australia host a handmade lantern parade that lights up the streets with community spirit? Not many, but Belgrave does. And it’s something truly special! 🏮

Saturday night marked the annual Belgrave Lantern Festival, and once again, it brought magic to the hills. We were so proud to support this massive community event, which draws thousands of visitors and gives a big boost to the local traders along the strip. ✨

Every lantern in the parade was handmade by volunteers over weeks of preparation – some so large they needed multiple people to carry them!

Thanks to kind weather, and with the winter solstice ushering in an early sunset, the glow of the lanterns came to life perfectly against the night sky. 🌙

We were excited to play our part too, our friends at Babaji’s stored their iconic rickshaw cart in our yard before it made its grand parade appearance, with the one and only Baba Desi aboard! 🧙‍♂️

We’re genuinely proud to sell real estate in a place like this. Belgrave is spirited, creative, connected, and peaceful – a community like no other. 💛

What a celebration it was. So much hard work happens behind the scenes, and it truly takes a village to bring this special evening to life. We are continually blown away by the creativity, warmth, and wonder that our incredible community brings to Belgrave.

From the stunning lanterns to the joyful faces lighting up the night, it was a powerful reminder of what makes our township so special. Thank you for being part of it.

🚂 - Large multi story car park behind Belgrave Train Station.

🚒 - Car Park near Belgrave CFA

🛍️ - Car Park near Woolworths on the high side of Belgrave.

Hayes Car Park near La Collina is closed and the road will be closed from approximately 4:30pm.

🛤️ - Also.. best bet is to park anywhere along the train line and grab a quick train into Belgrave and back out again!
