We have seven children between us. Whilst five are in school, one set of 2yo twins still serves to distract us a lot, even with the many diversions of our local play cafe!

If you’d like to hear the uninterrupted version of this talk that we are practicing, come along to the Ringwood Sustainability Fair at the Bedford Park Community Garden on Sunday March 15th (TODAY!). The event runs 10am-2pm, and we will be speaking at 12.30pm.

13/03/2026

The Ringwood Sustainability Festival is on this Sunday! We shall be doing a talk in room 5 at 12:30pm so if you’re interested in learning a bit about eco burials come along!

The story of our business is pretty wild, and we had so much fun discussing it with Robyn O’Connell, AKA the lovely Lady of Death, for her podcast.

It was fantastic to reflect on the journey thus far, all the lessons we’ve learned, and the people who have helped (and hindered - kids we are looking at you) us along the way.

We are so proud of our business, and how it has allowed us to educate about shrouded burial. We are so passionate about sharing how nature lovers can make their last act one that benefits the Earth and honours their values.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our work 🙏🏽

Just an FYI that the Australian forum with The Global Green Burial Alliance has been postponed. It will be rescheduled soon!

Our Green Burial in Australia Forum is POSTPONED. Stay tuned for updates about the new date. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Our Simple Carriers are not really all that simple!

First we have our local artisan make up the organic calico and jute covers. They must conform to our specific design which has been independently engineer tested to carry up to 150kg. We take a pretty drive out to Seville to collect them.

Then we have to collect the sustainable plantation pine planks after they’ve been cut down to size at the timber yard. It’s got to be the exact planks from a particular supplier to fit the design that was tested!

Once the planks are home, they are sanded and washed. Then the covers are put on to the planks and given an iron.

After all this, we drive them out to our shipping partners for storage!

⭐️ 10am Wednesday the 5th of November ⭐️

***POSTPONED, DATE TBD***

Take a virtual trip to the land down under on 11/4 / 11/5 to learn about the natural burial scene in Australia! Join us and our extra special panel of guests to explore the Australian green burial movement, from its growth and future to the latest scoop on the country's VERY FIRST burial in a conservation cemetery!

About Our Guests:

Fiona McCuaig of Walawaani Way Conservation Cemetery:
Fiona has volunteered and worked for a number of marine conservation and environmental organisations throughout her property career. She has a Bachelor of Economics from Sydney University and a Master of Property at UTS. After moving down from Sydney to the South Coast of NSW in 2016 she started the journey of establishing Australia’s first 100% natural and conservation burial ground – inspired by a documentary called Will for Woods where an Australian documentary maker named Amy Browne followed a man in America who was dying of cancer and his pursuit of finding a natural burial ground. Fiona says, “It seemed like the best way to protect habitat for wildlife and also provide a beautiful place to visit loved ones, a gift to the planet.” Walawaani Way Conservation Burial is an 18-hectare site that provides habitat for glossy black cockatoos, koalas and lyrebirds. Fiona is striving to make conservation natural burials the number one choice for all Australians by communicating that this is what humans have done for 99% of our existence as is simply a part of the cycle of life.

Tamsin Ramone and Alyssa Wormald of Heaven & Earth Eco Burials:
Tamsin Ramone and Alyssa Wormald share a passion for green burial and the ethos of going back to the Earth naturally and gently. Tamsin and Alyssa have lived in the outer eastern suburbs of Naarm/Melbourne for most of their lives. Growing up in the foothills of Mount Corhanwarrabul (in the Dandenong Ranges) on Wurundjeri Country, they were raised to care about the planet and animals, values that have very much persisted!

Alyssa is a dedicated animal activist, heavily involved in campaigns to protect native wildlife. Tamsin is passionate about trees and protecting old growth forests, involved in multiple campaigns. Both Tamsin and Alyssa believe in living with as little impact as possible on the Earth and its creatures.

Tamsin Ramone and Alyssa Wormald are both mothers, and their experience of being both stay-at-home and working mums has made them keen to support other mums in business. Wherever possible, they find mothers running small local businesses as their manufacturers and associates. In doing this, they have developed wonderful partnerships with people who don’t mind their meetings being interrupted by a toddler or three. Tamsin and Alyssa strive to keep their manufacturers local, both to keep down carbon emissions and to support their local craftspeople.

Tamsin and Alyssa are proud to provide a range of cruelty-free, biodegradable, sustainable and customisable burial products. Tamsin and Alyssa partner their offerings with community education about the environmental and social benefits of beautiful green burials.
