Today is World Ocean Day ππ
The ocean plays a vital role in keeping our planet healthy.
β
It helps keep the Earth cool by absorbing heat and carbon from the air.
β
Tiny ocean plants produce about half the oxygen we breathe.
β
The ocean supports wildlife, connects countries and keeps natural systems working.
What we do on land matters. Rubbish, chemicals and paint can wash into drains, flow into rivers and end up in the ocean harming marine life and habitats.
You can help by using less plastic, putting rubbish in bins and never pouring chemicals, oil or paint down drains.
