During Reconciliation Week, all groups participated in activities inspired by this year’s theme, ‘All In’. As a collaborative project, the children created representations of the magpie family that lives at kinder, using loose parts, paint and paper.

We also moved our bodies to a poem written by Trish Bellaburra, titled The Dance of Country. Trish is a local Bunurong elder and a valued source of local knowledge and culture, which she generously shares with us and the children during her visits.

You can listen to the poem as a song here:

….and read about reconciliation in her own words here:

“In early childhood, the heart of reconciliation begins by deeply connecting children to Country—to the plants, animals, and natural elements that surround us every day. When we invite children to truly see the natural world, to learn who these living elements are and discover the vital role they play in sustaining the land, we nurture a deep sense of belonging.

By fostering this early bond with the environment, we guide children to become more empathetic, compassionate, and caring protectors of our world.”

Thank you so much, Trish, for your ongoing support, guidance and generosity in sharing your knowledge with us. We are grateful for the opportunities to learn more about Aboriginal perspectives and connection to Country. We always enjoy having a yarn with you and look forward to your next visit to kinder. Dear Families,

As we continue planning for 2027, we are seeking feedback from families who may be planning to apply for a 3- or 4-year-old place at our kindergarten next year. Over the past 6 months we have also gathered valuable feedback from families and staff, which has helped us develop two possible timetable options for 2027.

If you are considering applying for a place in 2027, we strongly encourage you to complete this short survey so we can better understand what works best for our families.

We are asking families to indicate their preference between the following two options:

Option 1:
Sessions run on consecutive days for all groups.

Option 2:
Sessions are scheduled with breaks between days, as follows:
• Group 1: 2 × 7.5-hour sessions with a one-day break in between
• Group 2: 3 × 5-hour sessions, with the first two sessions on consecutive days and a one-day break before the third session

Please click the link below to view a visual representation of the timetable options.

Please take a moment to complete the short survey below:

https://forms.office.com/r/RSsCCjLvzQ

The survey will close at 5.00pm on Thursday 12 March 2026, so we kindly ask that responses are submitted before this time.

Please note: the final timetable will depend on enrolment numbers and may change if enrolments are insufficient.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and support our kindergarten community.
