What looks like a large glass water pipe is actually a wireless transmitter valve. It was first installed at Russell Street police headquarters in 1926 to send transmissions to wireless patrol cars in Brighton. Happy 100th anniversary!

The Museum will be closed from 25 December to 12 January.
