Country roads present unique challenges, long distances, higher speeds, and changing conditions. Taking extra care behind the wheel can save lives.

Be part of the movement by supporting Shine a Light on Road Safety, whether that’s sharing the message, getting involved in local fundraising, or joining the Walk & Wheel event.

Together, we can help prevent road trauma in our regions.

Stolen tools are often on-sold through online marketplaces, and tradies often know what to look for.

That information can make a real difference.

If you’ve got information, report it anonymously to Crime Stoppers Victoria on 1800 333 000 or via crimestoppersvic.com.au.

It helps police identify offenders, hold them to account and return tools to the right owners.

Thieves don’t need your keys. They break in, plug into your OBD port, and drive off.

To block access, install an OBD port lock.

Other ways you can slow them down include:
⛔ Steering wheel lock = a visible deterrent
⛔ Faraday pouch = added protection at home

We're appealing for public assistance as we investigate a series of incidents where ball bearings were fired across Melbourne and the surrounding suburbs.

It's believed offenders fired ball bearings to smash the windows of shops, restaurants and businesses between 8 - 11 May.

Some of the incidents which are believed to be linked include:
🔹 A window shattered at the entrance of an apartment building on Dandenong Road in Malvern East.
🔹 The glass window of a property on Centre Road in Bentleigh East.
🔹 Several bus shelters damaged with ball bearing projectiles through the Stonnington area and Melbourne’s south.

We believe a dark-coloured ute was used by offenders to travel between the locations, with the projectiles being fired from the vehicle.

It's understood additional locations could have been damaged but not reported to police at this stage.

Anyone who witnessed the incidents, with CCTV/dashcam vision or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
