We are closed on Monday, June 8, 2026 for the King's Birthday holiday. We re-open on Tuesday at 9.30am.

A talk “The Social History of Mechanics' Institutes” will be presented by Heather Arnold, history enthusiast and formerly Local History Librarian. Heather will speak about the role played for over 180 years by Mechanics' Institutes in buildings from the humble to the splendid. Light refreshments to follow.

Opening hours over Easter. Thursday, April 2 - open 9.30am to 5.00 pm. The Library will be closed on Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. We re-open Tuesday at 9.30am. Have a safe and happy Easter.
