Men’s Health Week activities are happening across Maroondah Neighbourhood Houses this June.

Council is proud to support local community centres and neighbourhood houses to deliver a range of free activities for men and boys, focused on wellbeing, connection and healthy living.

It’s National Volunteer Week and we want to give a big shout out to our amazing Committee 💚

So much of what happens at our community centre wouldn’t be possible without this wonderful group of volunteers. From helping guide and support the centre behind the scenes to sharing their ideas, knowledge and encouragement, they give so much of their time and care to help make this place what it is.

Anne, Carmel, El, Beth, Gemma, Inez - thank you for everything you do - the meetings, support, thoughtful conversations and commitment to our community. We’re incredibly lucky to have such a passionate and caring committee helping our community thrive.

Our 2nd Mr Perfect BBQ is on this Sunday!

If you missed the first one, now’s the perfect time to come along. Join a relaxed and welcoming group of local men for a BBQ, a chat, and some good company.

With talk about all the important things in life — weather, work, footy, family challenges, life changes, and everything in between. Sometimes it’s about talking, sometimes it’s just about listening. Either way, conversation helps.

Come along, meet some new mates, and be part of a growing community. Every(man) is welcome.

We’ve also got something special coming up next month, on Sunday 28th June for Men’s Health Week - think extra BBQ, coffee van, some special guests, a guest speaker, and a few fun extras.

A massive thank you to everyone who got involved in our Biggest Morning Tea this morning! From cooking and baking to setting up, running the event and helping tidy up afterwards, it was a huge team effort from start to finish.

The room was full, the food disappeared quickly, and it was wonderful to see so many people come together for such an important cause. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised over $300 for the Cancer Council!

We’re so grateful for the support from our community and for everyone who helped make the morning such a success 💛

Despite the rainy weather yesterday, we had an amazing turnout for our Neighbourhood Houses Week event.

A big thank you to Elaine Pratley from Peace Kitchen for leading “Staying at the Table” - a warm and welcoming community gathering exploring connection, conversation, and belonging. The room came alive with reflections on what community means to each of us, and shared hopes for a stronger, more connected future.

With delicious food and great company, everyone left feeling uplifted and full in spirit.

Our Community Day regulars also enjoyed a busy and vibrant morning, making it a wonderful day all round.
