Hundreds of courses, including 80 Free TAFE courses, are available across Victoria. Find yours. This account is monitored Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.

TAFE Victoria represents a network of 16 leading training providers, including 12 TAFE institutes and four dual-sector universities. We're here to help Victorians get the skills you need for the job you want to kickstart your career, upskill or change career pathways. Choose from hundreds of industry-linked courses on offer, including over 70 Free TAFE courses for in-demand skills. Meet the stars of Victoria’s Learn Locals! 👋🤩

At the Learn Local Awards 2026, we recognised the determination and talent of learners, trainers and organisations in community education.

Learn Locals deliver adult education to around 28,000 Victorians each year.

Through Learn Locals, you can develop valuable skills for work, study and life, including:
• reading, writing and mathematics
• digital technology
• English language
• employability.

A Learn Local course can open the door to further study, including through Free TAFE.

Soon there will be more ways for you to get skills in renewable energy.⚡🔋

TAFEs are working with industry to develop new training options in areas like:
• home electrification
• electric vehicle charging
• wind energy

They’re piloting new types of courses, including short courses to help qualified electricians to upskill.

Successful pilots will lead to courses being offered at TAFEs and secondary school from next year.

Our national team has done an amazing job at the WorldSkills International Competition in Shanghai.

4 intense days of competition.
64 skill categories.
68 countries.
1,400 apprentices, trainees and vocational students.

Australia was awarded:

• 1 Silver Medal 🥈
• 1 Bronze Medal 🥉
• 11 Medals for Excellence 🏅

Get ready, Sunbury!

Works have started on Kangan Institute’s new TAFE campus.👷‍♀👷‍♂

When it opens in 2028, you’ll be able to train closer to home in:
• digital technologies
• hair and beauty
• education support, for roles like an education assistant or home tutor
• foundation skills like literacy and digital competency.

Don’t want to wait? Kangan Institute has already started delivering courses at the Hume Global Learning Centre in Sunbury.

TAFE graduates with disability in Geelong can look forward to a clearer pathway from study to a job they love.

The Gordon has signed an agreement with 4 large employers in the region. Together, they will develop ways to better support graduates with disability.

The employers are:
• Transport Accident Commission
• WorkSafe Victoria
• National Disability Insurance Agency
• Barwon Health.

The ideas and models they develop will be used by TAFEs and employers across Victoria.
