Not all e-scooters are legal to ride in Victoria.

A legal e-scooter must 👇:

- Have a max speed capability of 25 km/h
- Only be ridden by aged 16+ wearing a helmet
- Be ridden at a maximum speed of 20km/h
- Have two wheels, a handlebar and a footboard
- Weigh less than 45 kg.

Expecting Police to turn up ❌

On Friday 8th October 2026, Yarra Ranges Highway Patrol were patrolling Mt Donna Buang, Warburton - when they came across a hoon meet. Approximately 12 vehicles and numerous people were in attendance and scattered like rats from a sinking ship. One P plater decided to stay for a chat and was issued a couple of infringement notices, costing him over $1500. He was issued a Section 13(2) RSA notice to produce his vehicle for inspection at Lilydale on 10th October, where he subsequently received a defect notice.

HIT/RUN COLLISION - WITNESS/DASHCAM/CCTV APPEAL;

On 02/10/26 at about 1:50PM, a silver BMW sedan collided with a legally parked Isuzu SUV on Burwood Hwy, Upwey opposite the primary school.

The BMW driver left the scene without exchanging details.

The BMW was later located abandoned near the William Angliss Hospital.

Police are seeking any information as to the identity of the BMW driver or any witnesses to the collision, in particular anyone who may have dash cam.

Ringwood police recently conducted an operation at Eastland Shopping Centre, carrying out 111 searches using electronic devices under the Control of Weapons Act.
Several weapons were seized, and four people were charged to appear at the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

Detectives from the Clandestine Laboratory Squad have charged five people and located two clandestine laboratory sites as part of an investigation into the alleged manufacturing of illicit drugs.

With assistance from Major Drug Squad and Mill Park Divisional Response Unit, investigators executed search warrants at a property in Bundoora, a hotel room in Mill Park and a storage unit in Croydon on 2 October.

An active clandestine laboratory was located at the Bundoora address, where detectives seized items including 35 litres liquid M**A, two handguns, four imitation longarms, am******on, cannabis, liquid suspected to be methylamphetamine, 1.5 litres of 1,4 Butanediol, clan lab equipment, chemicals and electronic devices.

Three people were arrested at the property.
