TCS CONFERENCE
Put your hand up if you're coming to The Celebrant Society Conference next week?!
Looking forward to sharing big laughs and big learnings, with all the chins and many cheers with my beautiful Flamingoes on Monday and Tuesday next week!
There is something very special about coming together with people who throw themselves so wholeheartedly into the celebration of others. Who give up their weekends to make sure that your day is everything you could have dreamed of.
It's so special to be surrounded by this kind of dynamic, optimistic energy and I can't wait to fill up my cup with these gorgeous folk and fall in love with my business, all over again.

HOT TIP: FED IS FAB
On your wedding day, you have all the feels, and all of the adrenalin. And you will be HUNGRY AF.
Everyone is focused on making sure your hair looks awesome and that you're carrying your flowers right and that your short Aunty doesn't press her foundation covered cheek onto your suit in a big cuddle just before you say 'I do'.
Make sure that you have a team around you who don't just have your back, but have your stomach too.
Here are gorgeous Maddy and Rudich, being treated like the total VIPs they are by the fabulous and .events.
Having the space post ceremony to get fed and watered before the big party to follow means you'll be grounded, relaxed, and look as amazing as these two in their photos by
Legends.

PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES GET MARRIED TOO
When we start planning your ceremony together I will always ask you this one MAGIC question;
'Is there anything you would like me to know about YOU, or YOUR GUESTS, to be inclusive on the day?'
We each come with our own preferences and our own support needs.
This means different things for different people. It might be physical access requirements. It might be sensory sensitivities. It might be the impact of chronic ill health or disability. It might be mental health challenges. It might be family drama.
Meet my gorgeous bride Laura. Laura is a legally blind legend. She is an expert in her own experience and what works and what doesn't.
When we planned her wedding at the Glasshaus Inside, we spoke alot about what she needed to have equitable access, empowered choice and ease of independent movement on the day.
When I was preparing this post, I asked Laura what this experience was like for her. THIS is what she said;
'You were super helpful and made me feel really comfortable and like I was any other client of yours.
For me everything being online makes it super easy because I use my own accessibility settings and programs to be able to use my phone and laptop doing it online made it possible for me to do this independently and just need Mish‘s help with any forms that we filled in.
You were also really great on the day pointing out where to sign and reading the documents out loud to me also made it super simple .
Discussing with you where I want to stand ahead of time and you making me aware of changes you made to the space once you arrived, was really helpful and made me feel like you were intentionally thinking about me and what would make my experience easier.
Happy for you to make a post about our experience together. I think it’s really important for people to know as well that people with disabilities lead really normal lives and get married and want to celebrate like everybody else .'
As your host, facilitator and your biggest cheerleader on your wedding day, having an open dialogue about what you need helps me to make sure you have the very best time on your wedding day.

LEGALS ONLY WEDDING
Have you wanted to get married for a while but just don't want the stress and pressure and investment that can be involved in a big day?
Let me introduce you to Amy and Daniel.
They booked a fab hotel room. Invited a handful of their closest friends and family to the Conservatory in Melbourne. And asked myself to come along and make them married, and the lovely Dee from to capture all the feels along the way.
It was relaxed and easy.
It was short and sweet.
And it was just right for them.
Here is what Amy and Daniel had to say in their Google Review;
'We did a legals only ceremony with Megan and she nailed the simplicity of our ceremony, but still managed to make it feel special, thoughtful and definitely funny.
Megan has a friendly and welcoming personality that made us feel comfortable in the short time that we got to spend with her.
Because of Megan's welcoming and friendly nature, we felt very at ease despite some small nerves on our end, that was all we could've truly asked for.
I strongly recommend Megan to anyone on the search for a celebrant. Thanks Megan!'
Maybe a sweet little legals only would be just right for you too??

THAT'S A WRAP BABY!
What. A. Ride.
Since August last year I have married 35 gorgeous couples, worked with some utterly outstanding vendors, and have sampling salt and vinegar chips and protein bars on my travels from every corner of the state.
Every year I am absolutely awe struck by the intensity of the season. I loose myself in my couple's stories, and the joy to helping them take that next big bold beautiful leap of faith together.
Honestly it's a high that is difficult to describe and a privilege that I am so grateful for.
Thankyou to every single couple who have trusted me with your special day. It is a dream to get to do this work.
I have a few weddings over Winter and September, and am always welcoming new couples who are keen to get hitched in a way that feels right for them.
But for now I am going to do my best to practice what I preach, and take a nice deep breath, slow the pace and be where my feet are for a while.
Much much love to you all!

LUSH LITTLE LEGALS ONLY
Picture this...
It's Tuesday night.
Everyone is going about their normal humdrum of life catching trains home picking kids up from school, making dinner, packing lunches for work for tomorrow.
But not you.
It's your anniversary.
You've got yourself a room at the Grand Hyatt.
You've booked yourself a celebrant and an ace photographer.
And after 13 years together, we are celebrating your story, by making you married in a sweet little legals only ceremony, at the Conservatory in Melbourne.
Then you're off for dinner with mates and family to celebrate.
Low key. Relaxed. And totally lovely.
Highly recommend.
And scuse the abrupt video ending, parking in Melbourne is a premium and you can see the car lurking on my left for the whole video lol

It's peak season right now and I don't know what day it is.
All I know is in 2 days I have a wedding, then a day off, then another wedding and emcee then a day off then another wedding....
And I'll gratefully continue like this till mid April.
It's so important during these joyful, but super busy times of life to see where you can inject a little extra loveliness. A tiny bit of slowness. A moment to breath in the in between.
So today, I bought myself flowers and a coffee before work. Whenever I do this, and they ask if they're a gift and I want them wrapped, I always say yes.
Because they are. A generous gift to me, from me.
Extra bonus points for the fact that they are dahlias (and they're my fav!) and that they match my new troll desk companion.
(Side note - anyone else's parents downsizing and wanting you to take back all your 1980s childhood icons? What does one do with a grocery box full of Disney figurines and bowling trophies from the early 2000s??? )
If you're in the thick of life right now, I hope you can take a moment today to look up or maybe see if you can treat yourself in a small or a big way.
Lots of love.

WELCOME
Before I was a celebrant, I was a social worker.
Where I used to work with people on their worst days, now I am invited to share in what I hope is one of their happiest.
But in many ways, the heart of the work, is the same.
It's about authentic connection and curious exploration.
Celebrating diversity and respecting individuality.
Writing new stories and honouring old ones.
It's about being open hearted and open minded.
Holding space and facilitating choice.
Honouring lived experience and lending expertise when it's needed.
It's intentionally walking alongside my people, supporting them, and empowering them, to find a path that feels right for them.
No ceremony I do is the same. Because I take this time to get to know you, what makes your dynamic special, and why getting married at THIS time, with THESE people, in THIS way, is important to YOU.
I can't wait to help you create a ceremony that is connected, joyful, grounded and above all, totally unique and perfect for you.

A WISHING LINE
Have you heard of this? I hadn't!
When Bec and Elliot's gorgeous community of loved ones arrived to the ceremony space, they were greeted by a vintage suitcase, just chock full of ribbons of all different shapes and sizes, colours and textures.
Bec and Elliot had a simple request of their guests - pick a ribbon that speaks to you, make a wish for us, and tie it in whatever way you like, to the wishing line along the aisle.
Ribbons were intentionally selected. Tied into bows and made into plaits and positioned with personality.
When Bec and Elliot made their rockstar entry into their wedding, not only were they greeted by the gorgeous smile faces and applause of their best people, but also a backdrop of colourful wishes, for their fabulous life together.
And better yet, now they have their wishing line in their kitchen at home, a daily reminder, of the love that surrounds them, on their onward adventure.
