Tech evolved, but Aussie farm tax thresholds are still frozen in 2007🌾

We are urging the government to reset and index the Capital Gains Tax thresholds, so genuine family businesses aren't penalized just because land values went up over 20 years.

The Federal Government’s latest $276M water buyback is pricing out local food producers from the local water market.

As VFF Water Council Chair Andrew Leahy says: “It’s no longer a level playing field.”

When ordinary irrigators get pushed to the sidelines, our regional communities, jobs, and food security pay the price. The government must stop pretending these buybacks don't distort the market.

"The concern is these changes could force families to delay succession, take on more debt or even sell parts of the farm just to manage the tax impact," says incoming VFF President Ryan Milgate.
