Public Holidays done right! Living vicariously through customers who can still get out for a fish - Pete nabbing a few today. Nice to see a few snapper still kicking about.

We have a rigged Profisha 475 (pre-live well) available on consignment from one of our customers. It’s a ready to fish package for someone starting their offshore journey. Hit up the used/demo section of our website for more info and if you’re keen drop us a line and we can put you in touch with the owner.

Good day to pick up some fresh snapper baits! While wings are generally the weapon of choice for most ski paddlers Pete is loving the Greenland stick for longer sessions to reduce strain on his aggravated elbow.

The Avon descent has come and gone for another year. Julian sent us in this great action shot from his trip, putting his new Kevlar reinforced ‘marathon layup’ Braca to the test. Glad to see the crew made it down unscathed!

The water temps are dropping and the days are getting shorter but Pete is still managing to sneak out after work to pick up a feed of flatties most weeks. Waiting for work to slow down a little to get out on Western Port to chase some fresh flake over the coming weeks. Need to wear a few extra thermal layers but at least there is still some fish to be had over the cooler months.

Common question particularly this time of year when people are servicing their craft for the end of the season is how to change a set of rudder lines. Pretty easy to do with the right set of tools. Stainless lines are pretty straight forward as you can feed the line through the conduits easily but you’ll need a swage tool to do the job right. For dyneema/spectra lines I just use fishing line to feed them through. A simple slip knot does the job, make the loop large enough so the knot on the fishing line is past the end of your rudder line meaning that the fishing line knot goes through the conduit first. A hot knife is an essential piece of kit for this job to give a nice finish to cuts and prevent the ends fraying and mushrooming out.
