A little help goes a long way!

We’re thrilled to share that Watsonia Scout Group was awarded a $5,000 grant through the North East Community Fund! 🎉

Thanks to this generous funding, we’ve been able to invest in new group marquees and cooking equipment to support our Scouts on their adventures.

From camps and outdoor activities to community events, these additions will help us create even more opportunities for our young people to get outdoors, learn new skills and make lasting memories.

A huge thank you to the North East Community Fund, an initiative of the Victorian Government, for supporting local community groups like ours. We’re incredibly grateful for your investment in our young people and the future of Scouting! 💚

And here’s a look at our brand-new marquees! 👀⛺️

Yesterday we were invited to Westfield Plenty Valley for the announcement of the 2026 Local Heroes winner, and we’re so proud to share that our very own Michael Ritchie was named one of the runners-up! 🎉

A huge congratulations to Jeremy Grassie from Big Group Hug on being named this year’s winner and to fellow runner-up Terry Walsh from Spectrum 3 INC. What an honour to be recognised alongside such incredible people doing wonderful things in our community!

While we didn’t take out the top prize, Michael is incredibly grateful to have been nominated as a finalist, and we couldn’t be prouder of him 💚

We also want to say a massive THANK YOU to Westfield Plenty Valley for the generous $5,000 donation to our group and more importantly, for shining a light on the everyday people who give so much of their time and energy to making our local community a better place.

We’re so grateful for the recognition, the support and everyone who got behind Michael throughout this journey. It means so much to our little Scout community! ⚜️💚

Forget the activities for a minute…we need to discuss something equally important.

The food 😂

Our Cubs certainly weren’t going hungry at Cuboree and we’ve got the photographic evidence to prove it.

Now we want YOU to be the judge 👀

Swipe through just a small selection of our camp meals and give each one a score out of 10 - then tell us which one you’d be lining up for seconds of! 👇🏻

🌟 A FIRST FOR WATSONIA SCOUTS! 🌟

Last night was a very special night for Watsonia Scout Group as FIVE of our amazing Joey Scouts received their Joey Scout Challenge Award! 🏅👏

The Joey Scout Challenge Award is the highest achievement in the Joey Scout section and for the first time in our group's history, we have five Joeys earning this incredible award!

And there's even more to celebrate! We have another FOUR Joeys on track to receive theirs before the end of the year! 🤩

We couldn't be prouder of these young Scouts and all the hard work, determination and enthusiasm they've shown along the way. What an achievement!

A huge thank you to our wonderful leaders, helpers and parents who have supported and encouraged our Joeys throughout their journey. This milestone wouldn't have been possible without you.

Congratulations to our five Joey Scout Challenge Award recipients! You've made a little bit of Watsonia Scouts history and we can't wait to see what you achieve next! 💚⚜️

Five days, countless adventures and approximately 48,573 photos to prove it 😂⚜️

Cuboree 2026 gave our Cubs a little bit of everything - huge activities, mud, challenges, new friends, plenty of laughs and the chance to experience life away from home with their Scout mates.

They came home tired and with dirt probably still under their finger nails, but with a whole lot of stories to tell 💚

Here are just a few of our favourite moments from an incredible week at Gilwell Park! 📸

POV: your Scout leaders understood the assignment! 🪄⚡️

Some leaders packed their Scout shirts for Cuboree.
Ours apparently packed for Hogwarts 🧙‍♂️😂

When your campsite theme is Harry Potter, you commit. And we have to say, Hagrid and Dumbledore absolutely nailed it.

And they’re off! 🚌💚

Monday morning was a whole mix of emotions as our Cubs headed off to Cuboree. Plenty of excitement, a few nervous butterflies, some very hard goodbyes…and for others, apparently the perfect time to crack straight into the lunchbox 😂

No matter how they were feeling as they climbed onto that bus, every single one of them was brave.

We hope they’re having the BEST week, making memories, trying new things and coming home with plenty of stories to tell ⚜️🏕️

Have an amazing Cuboree 2026 Cubs! 💚
