222 year from the last battle, 52 year since we participated in the WC, 2nd time in History ——- On this 18 November 2025, we honor the 222nd anniversary of the Battle of Vertières, the final victory that broke our chains in 1803 and gave birth to the first Black republic in the world.
On this same historic date in 2025, we also celebrate a new kind of victory: Haiti’s qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2026, our second time in history, 52 years after 1974. In difficult times, our Grenadiers remind us that Haiti may stumble, but Haiti never surrenders.
From Vertières to the World Cup, one message endures: we are a people of courage, dignity, and hope.
Honneur et Respect.
Vive Haïti! 🇭🇹⚽️⚽️

Today, we honor the heroes of Vertières, the fearless men and women who defied the impossible, facing oppression with unshakable courage and an unyielding belief in freedom. On that fateful day 221 years ago, they proved that no chain is stronger than the will of a people determined to be free.
Their victory was not just for Haiti but for all oppressed peoples—a declaration that dignity, justice, and liberty are worth every sacrifice. They carried the hopes of generations in their hearts and left us a legacy of resilience and unity.
As we remember this historic triumph, let us draw strength from their courage. In the face of today’s challenges, we must embody their spirit—undaunted, united, and unwavering in our commitment to building a brighter future for Haiti.
We are their descendants, heirs to their bravery. Let us honor their sacrifice by continuing to fight for a Haiti that is strong, just, and prosperous. Vertières lives in us! Ayibobo to freedom! #1803
