To END Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) in Victoria and Australia and make the Individual dog owner Responsible ! It simply DOES NOT WORK .

BSL is a public safety failure, expensive and difficult to Implement . Most importantly it does not improve dog bite/attack statistics ! I have done a lot more looking into of this problem of BSL in our country and across the world since i first started this sight about a year and a half ago. BSL is a knee-jerk reaction to try and decrease dog attacks . The Primary Reason that BSL is implemented i

Breed-specific legislation 17/09/2021

This is the AVA's stance on Breed Specific Legislation . Maybe Doc Sam Kovac needs to read this ...

Breed-specific legislation Legislation to prevent dog bites and to manage aggressive dogs should focus on the individual dog and the owner not the breed. Breed-specific legislation for dog bite prevention has failed to reduce the frequency of dog bites both in Australia and overseas.

THIS PETITION IS CLOSING.

These are the names and faces of just a few of the victims of our pound and shelter system. None of these cats or dogs had an untreatable condition when they were killed - and all had willing adopters, rescue groups, or foster carers ready to take them in.

Every year, somewhere between 100,000 and 250,000 cats and dogs like these are killed in pounds and shelters across Australia. The exact figure is impossible to calculate, because in most states transparent euthanasia reporting is not mandatory.

For the vast majority of these creatures, we will never know their names or faces. They are just a number. The system is broken and we need to fix it. Unless something changes, the convenience killing will never end.

This petition demands transparency. We are asking for mandatory reporting and for it to be illegal to kill an animal when there is another option available (ie a rescue group).

There are just hours left before this petition closes - let's get as many signatures as we can before Andy Meddick MP takes it to Parliament next week. It is the largest e-petition EVER in Victoria.

If you love cats or dogs and want to do ONE thing to help them today, please sign (Victorians only). And then, please SHARE. Share with your friends, family, colleagues, and Facebook groups.

Scroll ALL the way to the bottom where it says "Click here to sign". It is Petition 180:
