BRING BACK DIAMOND VALLEY RELAY FOR LIFE!
Several members of the community have reached out to us to bring back this special and impactful event.
But to do this we need a committee!
Volunteer roles on a Relay For Life committee suit the skills, availability and abilities of everyone. Whether you are looking to give back to the community, gain or improve on skills or increase your networks, Relay For Life has opportunities for everyone.
The community support and participation are crucial to helping make sure Relay For Life is a success.
The below outlines some of the areas you could become involved with:
- Team recruitment and liaison
- Entertainment and activities
- Catering
- Schools and Youth
- Logistics
- Marketing and Promotions
- Survivors and Carers
- Ceremonies
- Volunteer Coordinator
- General Committee
- Chair
If you are interested in how you could potentially help or contribute to the event, please email [email protected] or call 1300 65 65 85.
Let's Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back against cancer!

In light of Covid-19 and the challenges we have faced, we have made the decision to not hold Diamond Valley Relay For Life in 2021 and come back with a bigger and better event in 2022! We want our next Relay to be as exciting and special as you deserve and trust that in 2022, we will be able to hold the best relay it can possibly be. Thanks to our amazing Diamond Valley community, we have already raised over $19,000 which is an incredible effort. Although the physical event won’t be occurring in 2021, we would be most grateful if the Diamond Valley community continued to fundraise and fight back against cancer! All funds raised by April 2021 will go towards our 2021 tally so don’t forget to bank any funds you may have raised by 30th April. Let’s try and reach $30,000 to fight back against cancer and support the 20,436 people in the Banyule area that are diagnosed with cancer every year.
Thank you for your patience and support during these times. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions and we can’t wait to see you all on the track in 2022!

Share your cancer care telehealth experiences with us.
We would like to talk to people about their experiences with telehealth appointments for cancer care.
Cancer Council is working with health services across Victoria and Deakin University researchers to understand what cancer patients and their carers think of telehealth. This research aims to explore what patients and carers think is good about telehealth, what isn’t working and how telehealth services can be improved.
Participating in this research provides you with a valuable opportunity to help improve the telehealth experience for all Victorians affected by cancer.
To find out more and register for an interview slot, visit cancervic.org.au/about/stories/telehealth-research-project.html
If you have any questions about this research please contact Vicki White, lead researcher at Deakin University [email protected] or call 03 924 68522.
Thank you for your interest and support to help improve cancer outcomes for all Victorians.

To help us understand how the pandemic and physical distancing measures have impacted people affected by cancer, Cancer Council researchers are conducting an Australia-wide survey and we want to hear about your experience via this survey:
Take part in our survey and help other people affected by cancer
By taking part, you'll inform the development of new services for people affected by cancer - both in response to the pandemic and other future crises.
