Celebrating World Social Workday with a reflection from Maria...
"On World Social Work Day, I am reminded of how grateful I am to be a social worker, after many years of practice, continuing to celebrate the heart of our profession: justice, compassion, and collective care, as lived and practiced here at SECASA.
While today recognises social work, we do this work alongside our psychology colleagues, in strong partnership. How privileged we are to be engaged in work guided by courage, curiosity, and care, knowing that social work is not just a profession, but a commitment to dignity, hope, and meaningful change."

Congratulations Victoria and the Critical Incident Program team -we are so proud of you.
Recipient of a Monash Health STAR Award for Exceptional Teamwork.
Supporting a community in crisis means showing up with clarity, care, and for each other 💙
We’re incredibly proud to celebrate the SECASA Critical Incident Program team and team lead Victoria Walls as recipients of a Monash Health STAR Award for Exceptional Teamwork.
Under pressure, a multidisciplinary team at the specialist sexual assault and family violence service mobilised quickly, built structure where there was uncertainty, and supported one another with generosity and flexibility 🤲
‘Effective teamwork relies on both the mindset of the people involved and the systems that support them,’ Victoria shared.
‘We were fortunate to have adaptive and compassionate team members in abundance at SECASA.’
This recognition reflects not just what was delivered by Victoria and the team, but how it was delivered: with professionalism, compassion and a shared commitment to community wellbeing.
Thank you to everyone who stepped up and led with care🌟

SECASA was invited to participate in Chisholm TAFE’s International Women’s Day event.
We had over 200 students engage with our service, asking thoughtful questions about the work we do, the programs we offer, and showing genuine interest in the support available to them. Every conversation about our service helps our community stay safe.It was wonderful to see such strong interest from students.

SECASA was proud to support Chisholm TAFE at this year’s O-Fest, setting up a stall across five campuses-Frankston, Dandenong, Berwick, Cranbourne and Rosebud.
Our counsellors were present at each site, proudly representing our service and connecting with students and staff across the region.
Approximately 1,200 students visited our stall. It was wonderful to see so many thoughtful conversations taking place with students and staff asking questions about our service, the programs we offer, and the support available to them.

It was wonderful to see SECASA and South East Community Links (SECL) come together in partnership for a powerful presentation – ‘Supports After Sexual Violence’, proudly hosted by SECL last week.
This session marked another step forward in our Working Together: Strengthening Sexual Violence Support with Multicultural Communities partnership.
The conversation generated rich insights, strong engagement, and opened up exciting opportunities for further collaboration across agencies.
