Amphlett Lane Amphlett Lane is a popular landmark in the Australian city of Melbourne, named in honour of Aussie rock queen Chrissy Amphlett. CL1639 as Amphlett Lane.

Located at 27 Little Bourke Street, Melbourne. In honour of the late Australian musician Chrissy Amphlett, following a global petition started in May 2013, the laneway was unanimously approved by Melbourne City Council in July 2014. Amphlett Lane was officially opened on 18th February 2015 & is situated at the top end of Little Bourke Street, Melbourne, between Elizabeth & Swanston Streets. We have posted news & photos of every stage of the process, beginning with the sad announcement of the passing of Chrissy Amphlett on 21st April 2013. Following the worldwide outpouring of grief, a petition to establish a lasting memorial for Chrissy was set up by journalist Jessica Adams. The petition was presented to Melbourne Council by Chrissy's husband Charley Drayton & her cousin Patricia Amphlett (singer Little Pattie) in July. Later that month Melbourne City Council voted unanimously to support the proposal. The search was then on to find a suitable un-named lane in the Melbourne C*D to be named Amphlett Lane in honour of Chrissy. On 2nd September 2014, Melbourne City Council voted unanimously to name lane No. You can read the full exclusive story on Amphlett Lane on the Australian Music Museum Project website at http://t.co/skFUnws8B5 http://t.co/lKbOEx2nR3
