Tomorrow, 3 June is Mabo Day, and we’re celebrating with a free concert! 🔥
The evening’s celebration honours culture, community, and the extraordinary legacy of Eddie Koiki Mabo – a man whose courage and determination reshaped the history of this country.
The program will feature live performances for a heartfelt and vibrant tribute.

ℹ️ Mabo Day is marked annually on 3 June. It commemorates Mer Island man Eddie Koiki Mabo and his successful efforts to overturn the legal fiction of terra nullius, or ‘land belonging to no-one’. The Mabo decision was a watershed moment in Australian history. In addition to overturning a long-held colonial myth, it paved the way for subsequent native title claims.

Today is National Sorry Day, and tonight we light up purple to acknowledge the Stolen Generations and the ongoing trauma caused by those government policies that forcibly removed First Nations children from their families.
This year’s theme for National Sorry Day is ‘We cannot wait another generation’.
There is more work to be done for a reconciled Australia.
