This is how we do PD at Urban Discovery. Connected, playful, personal and analytical… curated for each team, guided by interests, philosophies and current research, we meet you where you are at and extend from there. Bookings are open for 2027 and we can’t wait to meet more groups of educators deep in their practice!

Opportunities to tuck away, observe and reflect are so important for children (and adults too!).

Diversity of plant species brings an array of interesting textures, scents, colours, light and shadow, and even sound.

This is moment was captured in The Wildplace Childrens’s Gardens at Melbourne Flower & Garden Show . We met so many wonderful people at the show and can’t wait to se you all again next year……

Huge shoutout to Southern Plants for the gorgeous plants you can see in this video.

.
Let them play

and build
and demolish
and experiment
and make a mess
and make their own plans
and lead their own journeys
and choose their own paths
and make their own decisions
and take risks that they feel ready for
and experience what it is to feel fully alive.

If only for the fleeting phase of childhood.

Let them play.

The Wildplace Children’s Garden resonated deeply with everyone who visited. Children, teachers, parents, designers, grandparents, therapists and so many others.

We couldn’t have done it without the support of our project partners, sponsors and volunteers.

Thanks to everyone who visited and contributed. We can’t wait to create a new Wildplace in 2027 Melbourne Flower & Garden Show

And that’s a wrap!!

Thanks for having us Zoos Victoria.

Another day of connecting with passionate young people, diving down lines of things we simultaneously care deeply about.

We share the joy and feel rapt to have brought our diverse team to connect with others in the industry and those up and coming.

Talking all things conservation, playspace design and beyond!
