Need anti-theft screws fitted to your vehicle?

Come down to the Melton Railway Station this Saturday the 10th of October between 10am and 1pm and meet the team from V/Line who are hosting this free event with the support of the Melton Neighbourhood Policing Team and the Transit Police Proactive Unit.

Volunteers from the Melton CFA and the Melton SES will fit your number plates with anti-theft screws for free so that people can’t steal your number plates.

Police will be there to answer questions on local crime prevention including vehicle security, home security, personal safety, and bike security. The Melton Level Crossing Removal team will also be there to chat about the safety and other benefits of the new station precinct.

Number plate and car theft is one of the leading crimes in the local community and taking a few minutes out of your day to have one-way screws fitted for free could save you time and money in the future.

We hope to see you there and a big thank you to V/Line for hosting this event.

The popularity of e-scooters and e-bikes is growing. So are the injuries.

Young people from Melton recorded some of Victoria's highest number of hospital-treated e-scooter and e-bike injuries, with 68 presentations to emergency departments.

These injuries can happen in seconds, but their impact can last much longer.

Before they ride, talk to your children about:

🛴 Riding safely
⛑️ Wearing a helmet every ride
👥 Never carrying passengers
📱 Keeping their focus on the road.

Let's make sure the ride home is always a safe one.
