Congratulations to Marlene Nanscawen - our 2026 Citizen of the Year!

We are absolutely thrilled to share that our client Marlene has been named the 2026 Citizen of the Year!

Marlene has dedicated countless hours volunteering her time with Make a Difference Dingley Village (MADDV). From supporting the food relief program and office operations, to making sure those in need have essentials like warm blankets, sleeping bags and frozen meals, Marlene consistently makes a difference to those in need.

As Mayor Georgina Oxley noted "She quietly gives her time, energy and compassion to support others without expecting recognition in return."

Marlene, your kindness makes our community a better place, and all of us here at AccessCare could not be prouder of you. Thank you for everything you do!

May 12 is a day to celebrate the incredible nurses who make our community stronger.

At AccessCare, a nurse’s role goes far beyond medical checks. Whether it’s completing assessments or supporting clients with complex health needs, our nurses are critical to supporting older people to live independently.

To our Nurses: Thank you for your knowledge, your kindness, and your dedication to helping people live independently and with dignity. We are lucky to have you as part of the AccessCare team.

The Community Bus recently travelled to the beautiful Yarra Glen for a sun filled day of sightseeing and delicious food.

Our Community Bus service is a vital service for AccessCare clients to stay connected to the community and support independence.

We’re expanding our aged care services into Frankston City to ensure older people across the region receive high-quality, trusted care and support.

Frankston City Council will transition out of offering selected Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) services from 1 July, and clients will transfer to Kingston’s AccessCare service.

This handover from one trusted local government provider to another will provide stability for older people who rely on essential services including personal care, domestic assistance, respite care and more.

The move signals Kingston Council’s ongoing commitment to providing vital aged care services to the community.
