The first sign that your number plates have been cloned could be an unexpected fine in your inbox.
Or even a knock on the door by your local police.
Don't think it can happen to you?
Unfortunately, it happens to regular people every day.
Advancements in 3D printing technology have enabled crims to reproduce number plates easily.
Once they're attached to a car similar in make, model and colour to yours, there's no way to know it isn't you committing the crimes.
Here are some tips to reduce the possibility of becoming a victim:
🚗 If you are listing a car for sale on any platform, ensure the number plates are blacked out in photos before uploading them.
🚗 If you see anyone in your local area photographing cars, report it to the police immediately.
🚗 Make a report to the police if you receive any fines you know aren't yours and submit an application for new number plates to prevent any new offences from ending up in your name.

Day 2 - Travelling This Christmas? 🚗✈️
Sharing your holiday adventures online can be fun — but it can also signal to thieves that your home is empty.
Here’s how to stay safe:
🔒 Avoid posting your travel plans before you leave
🔒 Don’t share your location in real time
If you do want to post while you’re away, do it safely:
✨ Turn off location services for photos
✨ Share “close friends only” stories instead of public posts
✨ Post photos that don’t reveal your accommodation, room numbers or specific locations
✨ Delay posts by a few hours so you’re not showing exactly where you are
✨ Avoid showing expensive items you’ve brought with you
Small changes = big improvements in safety.
Your home security starts with what you don’t share.

🌞 Stay Safe During the Heatwave, Queensland! 🌞
It’s shaping up to be a scorcher this week, so let’s take care of ourselves and each other during the heatwave. Here are a few tips to help keep you and your neighbours safe:
🏠 Prepare your home. Close curtains and blinds, stay cool indoors, and ensure you have an emergency kit ready in case of power outages.
🤝 Check on your neighbours. Keep an eye out for those who may need a little extra help, like the elderly, pregnant women, people with medical conditions, or families with young children. Even a quick check-in can make a big difference.
⛈️ Stay informed. Monitor your local weather updates and plan your day to avoid the heat.
🚗 NEVER leave kids or pets in cars. Even for a few minutes – it’s never safe!
📱 Stay connected. Know who to contact in an emergency and have phone numbers saved.
Together, we can all get through the heat safely. Check on your neighbours and encourage others to do the same – a strong community is a safe community.
