⭐ We’re a NSW Tidy Towns Award winner!

Murray River Council has taken home the Population Category C - Resource Recovery Award at the 2026 Keep Australia Beautiful NSW Tidy Towns Awards!

The award recognises our Moama Return and Earn facility and its contribution to recycling, reducing litter and keeping valuable materials out of landfill.

And there’s even more to celebrate: the facility reached over 5 million container returns this year!

Through community participation, local partnerships and accessible recycling infrastructure, the facility is helping make a real difference while returning funds to local residents and organisations through the Return and Earn scheme.

Our community have also been making great use of our new compactors to improve the recovery of cardboard and polystyrene.

Thank you to everyone who has returned containers, spread the word and supported the initiative. This achievement belongs to our community!
