KENMORE DISTRICT RUGBY CLUB - ROOKIES2REDS CLINIC

In a push for the 2027 season registrations, Kenmore District Rugby Club are hosting a Rookies2Reds clinic at the club during term 4.

This clinic is run by QRU and Reds players assist in coaching the players through 5 weeks of the clinic to build their skills and knowledge on rugby in a fun and inclusive way.

This opportunity is open to all community members between the ages of 5 - 12 who would like to give rugby a go prior to the 2027 season. A great opportunity to decide if it's the sport for them and check Kenmore Districts Rugby Club out at the same time.

More information will be available at the club during the clinic.

THIS WEEK IN PLAYGROUP @ MSS...

We are excited to welcome everyone back to Playgroup this week!

Our theme is "Jacaranda Magic", inspired by the beautiful children's book of the same name. Together, we'll read the story and celebrate this special time of year as the jacaranda trees burst into bloom with their stunning purple blossoms.

Join us for a morning of stories, play, creativity and fun as we enjoy the magic of the jacaranda season together. We can't wait to see you there!

FROM MOGGILL TO THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

This week, we wish two of our students the very best as they represent our school at the Queensland Track & Field State Championships. Mason will be competing in the Tetrathlon and Charlie in Discus.

Reaching the state level is an incredible achievement and a testament to their hard work, dedication and determination. We are so proud of everything they have accomplished and know they will do their very best on the track and in the field.

Good luck, boys! We will be cheering you on from Moggill and can't wait to hear about your experience.

POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR FOCUS: TERM 4, WEEK 2

At Moggill State School, we are committed to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and respected.

This week's Positive Behaviour Focus is "Be Respectful - We Say No to Bullying." We are encouraging students to think about how their words and actions impact others, to stand up for kindness, and to show respect to everyone in our school community.

By choosing kindness, including others, listening respectfully and speaking up when something isn't right, we can all play a part in making our school a place where everyone belongs.

💙 Be kind
💙 Be respectful
💙 Be inclusive
💙 Be an upstander, not a bystander

Together, we can make a positive difference every day.

HATS ATOP OUR PRIORITIES

Whilst we know it is a year-round requirement, as we prepare to enter the warmest time of the year, it is a good opportunity to remind everyone about the importance of students having, and wearing, their hats at school every day.

Whether students intend to choose an undercover or indoor playtime option, we require all students to have their hats with them and on their heads during eating time and as their ‘entry ticket’ to our outdoor play spaces.

The chance to play and participate in our active learning experiences is important as part of a balanced school day experience and a setting for so many prosocial learning experiences.

Thank you for your support in ensuring your children have hats, labelled with their name, and packed in bags or atop heads as they arrive at school every day!

POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR FOCUS: TERM 4, WEEK 1

As we head into Term 4, our Positive Behaviour focus will be "Be Safe – We Are SunSMART." With warmer weather and higher UV levels across Queensland, it is important that we all take responsibility for protecting ourselves from the sun while enjoying outdoor learning and play.

Students will be learning about the SunSmart Safety Team, also known as the 5 S's of Sun Safety. Just like any great team, each strategy works best when they work together:

• Slip on sun-protective clothing that covers as much skin as possible.
• Slop on SPF50 or SPF50+ sunscreen before heading outdoors and reapply regularly.
• Slap on a broad-brimmed, bucket, or legionnaire hat to protect your face, ears, and neck.
• Seek shade whenever possible, especially during peak UV times.
• Slide on sunglasses that meet Australian UV protection standards.

Students are encouraged to:

• Wear their school hat whenever they are outside.
• Apply sunscreen before school and bring sunscreen for reapplication if needed.
• Use shaded areas during breaks.
• Follow teacher reminders about sun safety.

By practising these simple SunSmart habits every day, students help keep themselves and others safe while enjoying all the exciting activities that Term 4 brings. We encourage families to support these messages at home so that together we can build lifelong sun-safe behaviours.

Remember: Being SunSMART is an important way to "Be Safe" every day!

See you tomorrow for the start of Term 4!
