In everything we do, we believe in developing the village that raises a child and connecting families in the community.

When we select the toys to include in our centre, we aim to not only be fun but also have an element to them that develops your child’s educational, emotional or social well-being.

Life can feel busy, repetitive, and sometimes a bit overwhelming. But even the smallest shift—trying something new, taking time out, or saying yes to something that lights you up—can change your whole energy.
It doesn’t have to be big. It could be an afternoon just for you, a new experience, a moment of stillness, or something that simply feels good for your soul.
You deserve that. 💫

Come join me this Sunday in Moorooka, Brisbane. Love to see you there. Limited spaces and only a few left.

Little Village sharing team… assemble 😆
My ADHD and I have been working hard… unfortunately not on the remembering-the-right-day-to-post-in-local-groups part 😅🤦‍♀️
Please pick a post from this page (not this shameless ai picture! 🤣) and share it if you know where it belongs 💛
Even if 1% of our followers share to 1 group, that's 50 groups who will know about us.
Don't know any groups? Tag anyone you think might need to know- support coordinators, social workers, psychologists, media- or rich investors 😉

One of our friends is looking for a teddy like this because they're one has lost the sound and it was very important to them. If you know where we could get one or if you have one lying around please reach out and let us know I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated.

🎮 Minecraft Mates families — I need your help! 💎

I'm thinking about moving Minecraft Mates back to ONE weekly session so we can keep it social, lively and easier to manage — but I want to hear from you first.

🕒 What time suits your family best?
2pm–4pm?
4pm–6pm?

I'm also thinking about changing bookings a little to help with planning and numbers.

💚 Regular booked spots may be available for $15 per session (guaranteed place).
⭐ Casual bookings may still be available if spaces remain, at a slightly higher rate.

The goal is to keep things calm, manageable and avoid overcrowding while still making sure families have options.

👇 Please comment below with:
• Preferred time
• Whether you'd prefer regular or casual booking
• Any other feedback you would like taken into consideration

Your feedback really helps me shape Minecraft Mates into something that works well for everyone.

We are safe… for now ❤️

Before anything else — thank you.

The generosity of the Little Village community over the last few days has honestly been overwhelming.

Thanks to an extraordinary amount of kindness, support, donations, shares, and some determined scraping together of my own savings, the immediate insurance and unexpected commercial property costs are now covered.

I genuinely cannot thank this community enough.

What people have done hasn’t just helped financially. It reminded me that Little Village really has become something people care about protecting, and that means more than I can explain.

But I also want to be honest.

This doesn’t mean we’re suddenly “in the clear.”

Running a community-focused space in the current economy is hard. Commercial rent, outgoings, insurance and operating costs are very real - and like many small businesses and families right now, we’re feeling that pressure too.

What this experience has made me realise is that if Little Village is going to survive long-term, we need to do things differently.

This space was never meant to be carried by one person alone.

So I’m looking at how we can share it more, collaborate more, and make upstairs work harder for the community and for the sustainability of Little Village.

That means:
🏡 more room hire and regular users upstairs
🤝 community partnerships
🎤 information nights and guest speakers
🧠 sharing ideas and skills
❤️ building something sustainable together

One idea I’m exploring is a monthly parent information evening upstairs with guest speakers like dentists, nutritionists, psychologists, financial planners, allied health professionals, or anyone with knowledge that genuinely helps families - while we offer child minding downstairs so parents can connect and learn.

And honestly… I’d love your ideas too.

If you care about Little Village and want to help us brainstorm, market the upstairs space, connect us with organisations, or simply help think creatively about how this place survives and grows — come and visit.

Sometimes villages are built one idea at a time ❤️

I got a really lovely question today and thought I would share it because it helps explain the values behind Little Village 🌈

Someone asked whether Little Village is mainly for mums and children or whether older adults belong here too.

The truth is… the whole reason this place exists is to help offset the isolation that can happen in people’s lives. Yes, especially for parents - but honestly, for humans in general.

Community matters. Connection matters.

When my children were babies, I had a woman in her 60s volunteer a few hours a week and it was honestly one of the things that helped me survive those years. It reminded me that villages are not meant to be separated by age or stage of life.

So while we do have children and family activities, Little Village has never been intended to be only that. We also have yoga, meditation, art therapy, workshops and spaces for grown ups too 😊

If you value kindness, connection and community… you belong here 💛
