We are so proud of our Year 12 students who recently visited their pen pals at Yallambee Residential Care. They demonstrated our Hampton CORRE values while creating meaningful connections and bringing plenty of joy to the residents. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Our Year 11 students also deserve a huge shout-out for their compassion and teamwork while preparing care packs for women and children in need through Little Things for Tiny Tots. โค๏ธ

What an incredible week! Students from Hampton SHS, Kiara College and Dianella Secondary College travelled to Alice Springs and Uluru for an unforgettable week of adventure, cultural learning and new experiences.

Highlights included cycling around Uluru, learning Dreamtime stories and traditional knowledge, tasting bush tucker, visiting the Cultural Centre and Kata Tjuta, and experiencing the spectacular Wintjiri WiแนŸu drone and laser show. ๐ŸŒ…

Along the way, there were plenty of laughs, games, music, storytelling, incredible sunrises and sunsets, and many memorable first-time experiences.

Most importantly, students had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Country, culture, community and connection, while learning about Anangu culture and traditions.

A huge Palya to everyone who helped make this amazing experience possible!

๐ŸŽ“ Farewell, Class of 2026! โค๏ธ

On Tuesday, we said a very special goodbye to our Year 12 students. The day was filled with laughter, tears, plenty of cheering and so many memories as we celebrated the end of their time at Hampton Senior High School.

The day began with our Year 12 Farewell Breakfast, where students enjoyed their final school-canteen meal, reminisced with friends and teachers, and signed each otherโ€™s shirts before heading to their final assembly.

Our School Captains, Keelani Spencer and Gershom Vyukusenge, reflected on the journey of the Class of 2026, describing their 2,083 days of high school as a โ€œrollercoasterโ€ filled with *โ€œthrilling highs, scary drops and unexpected turnsโ€, but most importantly, an adventure that gifted them โ€œan extra family.โ€

Their final words captured the day perfectly:

โ€œAs we leave the walls of Hampton Senior High School, we leave rich in memories which will be cherished for a lifetime.โ€

To the Class of 2026, congratulations on everything you have achieved. We are so proud of you and wish you every success, happiness and adventure for the future.

As technology changes, Department of Education rules are updated to keep up with the changes.

Starting from Term 4 smart glasses will not be allowed at any public school.

Smart glasses include any eyewear with built-in cameras, microphones, audio playback, or hidden computer screens.

This is being introduced to help us with safety, wellbeing and privacy: Smart glasses can take photos, record video, or stream audio without anyone else knowing. Everyone in our school has the right to feel safe and secure.

Further information on this technology, and other online safety resources for parents, is available via the eSafety Commission website:

Our students recently had the fantastic opportunity to attend North Metropolitan TAFE Balga Campus as part of a Career Taster Program.

Students spent the day in the Carpentry Workshop, where they were introduced to a range of tools and equipment, learned about important workshop safety procedures, and had the opportunity to put their new skills into practice. The students worked hard to create their very own project, which they were able to take home โ€” a fantastic achievement!

A special thank you to Education Assistant Mr Petrillo for attending the workshop and supporting our students throughout the day. We would also like to thank Ms Gatland and the VET Team for organising this valuable opportunity and helping our students explore future career pathways in a hands-on and engaging environment.

It was wonderful to see our students developing practical skills, building confidence and experiencing what a TAFE learning environment has to offer!

We were delighted to have our IMMS Choir students perform at the annual G*T Dance Concert, showcasing their talent and representing our school with pride. Their contribution added a special element to the evening!

It was a busy and successful week for our vocal students, with Year 8 students Emily Sarti and Poppy Simpson performing at the IMMS Vocal Festival at Churchlands Senior High School. Both students demonstrated outstanding musicianship and commitment, and we congratulate them on this fantastic achievement.

A special thank you to Vocal Specialist Christie Sheehan for her dedication, expertise, and ongoing support of our students. Well done to all students involved for embracing these opportunities and representing Hampton SHS so positively.

R U OK? Day reminds our school community of the importance of checking in with each other and starting meaningful conversations ๐Ÿ’›

Students enjoyed a lunchtime event with mental health stalls, merchandise, airbrush tattoos, a photo booth, volleyball and a sausage sizzle. The sun was shining and the vibes were high. Many thanks to our Student Council, shOUT group and the Mental Health Working Party for facilitating this event for our students and staff.

An invitation is being extended to the Hampton parents and friends of young children who wish to be part of a playgroup being run by the Year 10 Child studies students.
Working with children and developing skills to interact with young people is a crucial part of the course and as such a major component of this course will be to plan and create activities suitable for young children.

Children and parents aged between 0-4 years will be provided with a fun and educational playgroup setting hosted by the students while the parents will have the opportunity to meet and relax with a coffee and cake and some adult conversation.

If any parents may be interested in having the BIG kids look after your young ones for an hour while you enjoy a leisurely cuppa then email your interest and any special dietary requirements/allergies to [email protected]
