SPOOKIE UKIES HALLOWEEN CONCERT - Venue change

We have been watching the weather forecast, and although it is ideally dark, stormy and gloomy for our Spookie Ukie Freaks, we are concerned for our audience safety. We have decided to relocate to Mountain Monk Brewery. If the prodicted storms hit right at performance time, we will be indoors. If the weather holds off we can utalise the outdoor space at the Brewery. Performance will start at 4:30pm

Our students yesterday had a fantastic start to our week. We have enjoyed music, art, and STEM, so far.

Kim supported our year 3 students learning about coding using Sphero BOLT, app enabled robotic balls that you can drive and code.
Programmable LED Matrix can animate and display real time data powered by the Sphero Edu app.

Emily worked on tricky song with our junior years classes, and then went into our Art space with 3/4 and years 5 and 6 to learning about portraits using grids for guidance to create accurate scale of someone's features.

What a magnificent way to kick off week 2.

Students in Year 4-6 have kicked off their sustainability unit with Anna, with some photography this week.

They are entering a competition called 'Sustainability through your own lens' through ResourceSmart Schools.

This year's theme for the competition is 'Backyard Biodiversity: discover your local icons.'

Students will enter a photo and a short piece of reflective writing answering the question: What species, habitat or place in nature do you think deserves greater recognition and protection and why?

Here are a couple of early photos from our students.
