🚒 STATEMENT FROM MUSK CAPTAIN AND BMT 🚒

The Musk Fire Brigade would like to thank everyone for their support and ongoing support felt towards our little brigade especially over the last 10 months or so when we announced our intentions of applying through the Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program or VESEP Grant Program for an additional tanker for Musk Fire Brigade. Unfortunately, yesterday we received news that we were unsuccessful in the VESEP application for this year’s round of funding. While it won’t be the end of the story, we will be continuing to apply each time until approved, we understand this is a hard pill for us all to swallow. We want to assure Musk, Bullarto and surrounds that our commitment to you will not change! Hopefully we may have some news about the upcoming fire season that will make everyone feel better once again… watch this space!! 👀

🔥 What a fantastic day at Musk FB!! Today we hosted our Get Fire Ready Open Day‼️

We had many people through our doors learning about making a fire plan, fire danger ratings and many more things. Kids loved having a go on the hose and climbing all over our truck!! Thanks to all for coming and Musk FB team for another successful day 💪

🚒 Well, what a big afternoon Musk FB had yesterday afternoon! We had organised a training session focusing on burn-over or our yearly entrapment drills which is designed to save us if we ever get overrun by fire. Thank to our mates from Hepburn Fire Brigade for letting us borrow Tanker 2 for that!! 💪

💧 Following this we got a picture with our new Fire Danger Rating sign with everyone in their gear (not pictured). We then did your yearly hose pressure testing, making sure there were no leaks… thankfully all hoses passed.

🔥 We then spotted our neighbour burning off what looked to be the roadside. One of our members walked over then rang another for the truck to put the fire out. Just gave us a bit more of a training exercise we saw it to be 💪

🔥 Well what a big morning Musk FB had at CFA Central Highlands Training Campus in Ballan!!

Two of our members this morning, went down to Ballan in our Tanker with Newlyn Dean FB and Hepburn FB and their tankers. We had various scenarios to run through from various types of house fires, a bin fire and even a fuel tanker fire!

Also a big thanks you Andy from Newlyn Dean FB for organising today and Hepburn and Porcupine Ridge FB for use of one of their members each to bump our numbers up a bit on our tanker 💪
