Is getting to the library becoming an effort? Get books, DVDs, audiobooks and more delivered right to your door!

Muswellbrook Shire Libraries deliver library items to members living within the Muswellbrook and Denman townships.

We can deliver personally selected items to you at your home address if you meet the following criteria:

📖You are a current library member. Join online here: https://libraries.muswellbrook.nsw.gov.au/your-library/join-the-library/

🏠You are housebound and live within the Muswellbrook or Denman township.

✅You are eligible to borrow under the Muswellbrook Shire Libraries Membership Policy and Muswellbrook Shire Libraries Overdue Policy.

This service is available to members of all ages however a guarantor is required to place orders on behalf of members aged under 18 years.

It’s Aussie Bird Count Week!

From 19-25 October 2026, BirdLife Australia invites Australians everywhere to spend just 20 minutes counting the birds around them, whether that’s in your backyard, on your balcony, at school or in your local park. No experience needed, just a love for birds and a desire to connect with nature!

It’s easy to take part:
🐦 Get out in nature.
🔎 Count the birds you see for 20 minutes.
📱 Record your sightings on the free Aussie Bird Count app.

Your sightings help contribute to important citizen science, while giving you a chance to slow down, connect with nature and discover the birds living right around you. Last year, 64,000 people counted more than 5 million birds across Australia. Will you be one this year?

What's On this week?!
Check out what's on at Muswellbrook and Denman Libraries this week!

Monday:
Join us for Rhyme Time from 9:30am at Denman Library and 10am at Muswellbrook Library. Sing some songs and join in with fun stories for children ages 0-3 years. Older siblings are also welcome!

Join the fun and challenge your Lego skills at Lego Club from 3:45pm at Muswellbrook Library! Suitable for ages 6-12 years. Bookings are essential, please contact Muswellbrook Library on 6543 1913 to book.

Tuesday:
Join us in the morning at Muswellbrook Library as we wriggle and rhyme at Circle Time from 10am. This inclusive activity is open for children ages 0-6 years.
In the afternoon at Muswellbrook Library join the Upper Hunter Writers Collective from 2pm to share ideas and work on your writing project!

Wednesday:
Pull up a loop with Upper Hunter Crochet! Come along and share your skills, ideas and crochet tips in a social setting over a cuppa from 10am at Muswellbrook Library.

Thursday:
Join us at Muswellbrook Library for Story Time from 10am for songs, stories and hands on crafts. This inclusive activity is open for children ages 3-5 years.

Our activities are inclusive. Please contact Muswellbrook or Denman library if you would like to discuss any supports for your family prior to attending.
All children under the age of 13 must be supervised by a parent or carer at all times.

Monday:

HSC examinations will commence at Muswellbrook Library this week. As a result there are changes to entry into our library. Please follow all directional signage when visiting and utilise our side pathway up to the front door during exams.
Please contact the library on 6543 1913 if you have any concerns or require assistance to access our facilities during this time. Good luck to our local students completing their exams!

Tuesday:
Take part in Muswellbrook Library Book Club from 2pm. This month our Book Club will discuss ‘Three Reasons for Revenge’ by Dervla McTiernan and borrow their next book ‘The Changeling’ by Kate Forsyth. Limited print copies are available upon request from Muswellbrook Library.

Wednesday:
Swap skills and spark connections at our Learn and Laugh Social Club at Muswellbrook Library from 11am. Bookings essential. Please contact Muswellbrook Library on 6543 1913 to book your spot.

Thursday:
Join us at Muswellbrook Library for Story Time from 10am for songs, stories and hands on crafts. This inclusive activity is open for children ages 3-5 years.

Friday:
Muswellbrook Library will be closed from 3pm today and will reopen on Saturday morning from 10am. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. The after-hours return chute will be available for use.

We had a magical morning yesterday making Fairy Houses! 🧚

It was a whirlwind of buttons, paint, fairy wands and so, so much glitter. Thank you to all who came along and made the morning so special!

Borrow. Grow. Share. 🌱

How does the Seed Library work?

1. Drop into the Muswellbrook Library and become a member (it’s FREE!!).
2. Borrow up to 3 seed packets at a time.
3. Grow the seeds in your garden (we have some great books to help).
4. Donate a packet of seeds to the library – this can be seeds harvested from the seeds you loaned and grew or a different type of seeds. Just make sure they are cleaned, dried and put into a labelled envelope.

Let us know your successes by sharing your gardening photos with us! We would love to hear about it.
