♻️ New and improved Bulky Waste Service has launched!

We've listened to your feedback and made it easier to dispose of large household items, with more flexibility and choice.

Eligible households now receive two (2) bulky waste entitlements each financial year (1 July – 30 June).

Choose how to use them:
🎟️ 2 Waste Disposal Vouchers; OR
🚛 2 Bulky Waste Pickups; OR
🔄 1 of each

Each booked pickup or voucher visit uses one entitlement.

📬 Information letters have been mailed to eligible households and should arrive within a week.

➡ Highbrook Park – Wednesday 14 October

💧 Emergency water supply interruption – King Street area

Council crews are responding to a water main break in the Common, between Queen Street and Coal Road, Muswellbrook.

Residents in the King Street area will experience a temporary loss of water supply while emergency repairs are undertaken.

Crews are working to restore supply as soon as possible. At this stage, an estimated restoration time is not available.

We apologise for the inconvenience and thank residents for their patience.

🔄 UPDATE – 4:30pm: Wilkinson Avenue has reopened and normal access has been restored. The temporary detour is now closed, and the bollards on the bridge at the end of Wilder Street are being reinstated.

🚧 TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE – WILKINSON AVENUE

Wilkinson Avenue is temporarily closed due to a water main break near the intersection of Hayden Street.

A detour is being established to maintain access to the Muswellbrook Aquatic and Fitness Centre and properties along Wilkinson Avenue.

➡️ Detour via New England Highway and Wilder Street
➡️ The bridge over Muscle Creek on Wilder Street will be temporarily opened to allow access

Motorists are asked to follow traffic controls and signage in place and allow additional travel time.

Council crews are working to complete the emergency repairs and reopen Wilkinson Avenue as soon as possible.

We appreciate the community’s patience while these works are carried out.

📢 Public Holiday hours

Council’s administration building and facilities will be closed on Monday 5 October 2026 for the public holiday.

🏊 Open Monday:
• Muswellbrook Aquatic & Fitness Centre: 9am–4pm
• Denman Memorial Pool: 11am–4pm

Council’s administration building will reopen Tuesday 6 October 2026 at 8.30am.

For urgent matters, please contact Council on (02) 6549 3700. Calls will be assisted by our After Hours service.
