Come down and say Hi to our crew tomorrow at The Myrtleford Show, we will be there from 9am to have a chat about what we do and the adventures of the year so far.

We have Paddy Platypus visiting, so make sure you get a photo as He wanders around, and other activities and give-aways for the kids

We will also have our New Pod Trailer from Trailmaster Industries on Display, which was purchased with support of community donations from both Grow Myrtleford+ and Myrtleford Hospital & Community Op Shop Inc.

Victoria’s weather is expected to take a turn this weekend, with forecast widespread rain and the potential for severe storms across parts of the state over the coming days.

The shift in conditions is a timely reminder for community members to be storm ready this spring and summer higher risk weather season. By taking simple actions such as trimming overhanging branches, clearing gutters and drains and tying down loose outdoor items, community members can significantly reduce their risk of damage if a storm develops.

Ahead of this weekend, community members can also stay up-to-date with any emergency warnings issued by downloading the VicEmergency app and establishing a personal watch zone.

For SES emergency assistance, call 132 500.

Today is the Great ShakeOut, a global drill held every year, to educate the community on earthquake safety.

As the control agency for earthquake, we want every Victorian to know the three
important steps to stay safe during an earthquake: DROP, COVER, and HOLD ON!

Even though high magnitude earthquakes are rare in Victoria, they do happen and you could experience one while travelling overseas.

For more information on being quake-safe, visit our website:

Today marks the International Day of DisasterRisk Reduction, and this year’s theme is ‘resilience starts at home’.

We know that understanding how to prepare your home for emergencies is key to keeping yourself and your loved ones safe. Things like keeping your gutters clean and trimming your trees can go a long way in preparing you for a storm or flood.

🚨 Thunderstorms and rain are forecast across much of Victoria from tomorrow through to the weekend, so now is the time to prepare. Ensure to:

✅ Secure loose outdoor furniture and other items
✅ Park vehicles undercover and away from trees
✅ Never drive, ride or walk through floodwater

🏕️ If you're camping these school holidays, choose your campsite carefully and have a plan if conditions change. Remember to:

▶ Camp away from trees and overhanging branches
▶ Set up on higher ground, away from creeks, rivers and streams
▶ Know your camping ground's emergency plan
▶ Set a watch zone for your campsite in the VicEmergency app

📱 For the latest warnings and emergency information, visit the VicEmergency app or website.
