Sunshine Coast Pride Network

Directions Website

Sunshine Coast Pride Network Sunshine Coast Pride is about the celebration, recognition & visibility of the Sunshine Coast's LGBTQIA+ community. Show your Pride in Paradise.

The Sunshine Coast is one of the most desirable parts of Australia to live and visit, and for that reason many members of the LGBTIQ community choose to stay and visit here on the Sunshine Coast. Sunshine Coast Pride is designed to help the gay community here band together in mutual celebration, acceptance, recognition and strength. The Sunshine Coast Pride Festival is an annual event organised by a dedicated Committee of volunteers and is about providing a safe and fun environment for LGBTIQ people, their family and friends, to come together and celebrate our diversity on the Coast. From it's humble beginnings, the Festival has grown to be several events over a weekend. The Festival is to celebrate not only the local LGBTIQ community but beyond.

Did you know Rainbow Families is hosting our very first Resilience Camp in Queensland this November?!

From 6–8 November, we’re taking over Camp Cooby, around two hours from Brisbane, for a whole weekend created especially for rainbow families with primary school aged children (5+).

Think cabin stays, outdoor adventures, group challenges, creative activities, new friendships, shared meals and lots of fun but there’s also a really beautiful purpose behind the weekend.

Resilience Camp is designed to help our kids build confidence, resilience, emotional skills and friendships, while giving them the opportunity to spend time with other children from rainbow families.

And we have something for the parents too!

Kelly from Evolve Wellbeing Psychology
will be joining us to run two fun and interactive workshops.

🌈One just for parents, where we’ll talk about the real stuff, parenting stress, big emotions, conflict and those moments when we lose connection with our kids or partners. You’ll learn practical tools for communicating, repairing after tricky moments and strengthening your family relationships.

🌈 Then one for parents + kids together, all about understanding emotions and learning how to communicate them. We’ll use interactive activities to help families recognise feelings, understand each other better, work through challenges and practise reconnecting after disagreements.

And nope… these won’t be boring sit-down-and-watch-a-PowerPoint workshops! They’ll be practical, interactive and full of things you can actually take home and use with your family.

In between all of that, the kids will be outside having adventures, trying new things, getting creative and making friends, while parents get the chance to connect with other LGBTQ+ families too.

Your ticket includes:

🏕️ Two nights cabin accommodation
🍽️ All meals, snacks + drinks
🌿 Activities and outdoor adventures
🧠 All resilience workshops
🌈 A fully planned weekend for your family

We now have just 22 of our 60 spots remaining, and incredibly 9 of those are still subsidised at $182 per person thanks to grant funding we received from Macquarie Bank. Once those are gone, the remaining spots will be full price.

If you’ve been wanting more opportunities for your kids to connect with other rainbow families, build confidence and make some beautiful memories along the way… this weekend is for you.

Want to bring your family?

👉 You can find all the information + book your spots via the link in comments.

Hello to our wonderful community,

We are now starting discussions into how the Sunshine Coast Pride Festival will look in 2027, and we'd love your input.

Please let us know which day/time you would prefer to attend a Community Engagement Session in the coming weeks. We will do our best to choose a time that will allow as many as possible to join us, however we understand no one date will be perfect so we will accompany this with digital contributions options.

Voice your opinion on the poll: What day do you prefer for a community engagement session about SC Pride Festival 2027?
