This National Carers Week, we're recognising the incredible carers who make a difference in the lives of others every day.

From the everyday moments of support to celebrating milestones big and small, carers play an important role in helping the people around them feel supported, connected and empowered.

This year's theme, "Care for a Carer", is a reminder that carers deserve the same kindness, understanding and support they so generously give to others.

To all the carers in our Spiral community, thank you for everything you do. 💛

This Mental Health Month, Together We Thrive celebrates the connections and communities that help people feel safe, understood and like they genuinely belong.

For us, that means creating space for people to show up as themselves. To have a say. To build confidence, find their people and be part of the things that matter to them.

Because thriving isn’t about fitting yourself into somebody else’s version of life.

It’s about having the support and space to make it yours. ✨

Today is International Day of Sign Languages 🤟

At Spiral, we know communication can take many forms, and sign language is one of the ways people connect, express themselves and take part in everyday life.

For Deaf people and communities, sign languages are also an important part of culture and identity.

Today is a chance to recognise and celebrate the richness of sign languages, the communities that use them and the many ways people communicate with one another. 💛

Thank you to Marty Hunt MP for coming along to the opening night of Voices in Colour and for taking the time to celebrate the incredible artists in our Spiral community. 🎨✨

It was such a special evening, and we’re so proud to see the creativity, stories and perspectives of our artists being shared with the wider community.

Voices in Colour brings together original works from Spiral artists and is a beautiful reflection of individuality, imagination and the many different ways people experience and express the world around them.

There’s still plenty of time to come and see the exhibition for yourself, with works on display until 26 September at The Old Ambulance Station in Nambour.

A simple question can create space for someone to feel heard. 💛

This R U OK? Day, we’re reminded how important it is to genuinely check in with the people around us.

You don’t need to have all the answers. You can listen, give someone the time to share what’s going on, and remind them that they have people around them who care.

And that conversation doesn’t need to wait for R U OK? Day.

If someone is on your mind, Ask R U OK? Any Day.

Because everyone deserves to feel seen, heard and supported.

Today we’re celebrating the dads, grandads and father figures who have been part of our lives in meaningful ways. 💛

The ones who have been there beside us, shared in the everyday moments, celebrated the good days, listened when we needed them and reminded us that we’re never facing life alone.

Families and father figures can look different for everyone, and today we recognise the many people who hold that special place in our lives.

From everyone at Spiral, we wish all the dads, grandads and father figures in our community a very happy Father’s Day.

Our Shooting Stars are taking the stage! 🌟💃

We’re so excited to see Spiral’s Shooting Stars performing at A Fair Day Out alongside a brilliant line-up of local performers and community groups.

Our dancers have been putting in the work, bringing plenty of energy and having a whole lot of fun along the way, and we can’t wait to cheer them on when they hit the stage at 1pm! 🎶✨

A huge shoutout to all of our Shooting Stars. We’re so proud to see you getting out there, doing what you love and sharing it with the community.

🎨 Something very special is coming to Nambour next month!

We’re incredibly excited to announce “Voices in Colour”, an exhibition celebrating the artists of Spiral and showcasing their creativity, talent and unique perspectives.

Across three colourful weeks, visitors will have the opportunity to explore a vibrant collection of original artworks, meet artists in residence and experience the creativity of Spiral in action.

There will also be plenty for families to enjoy, with school holiday workshops running during the final week of the exhibition. More details and bookings will be announced soon!

We loved welcoming students from Currimundi Special School to our All In Music program! 🎶💛

It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the music, experiencing the Black Box Theatre and learning more about the opportunities available at Spiral.

🌱 Building skills, confidence and community connections!

Recently, three Spiral participants visited Bloomhill Cancer Care in Buderim to explore volunteering opportunities as part of our “Get Ahead” Job Readiness Workshop.

From gardening and concierge roles to helping in the kitchen and front of house, the group discovered plenty of meaningful ways to gain hands-on experience, develop workplace skills and give back to the local community.

Everyone had a fantastic time and left feeling excited about the opportunities ahead. A big thank you to the team at Bloomhill Cancer Care for welcoming us and showing our participants around!

We currently have two spots available in our “Get Ahead” Job Readiness Workshop. If you or someone you know would like to build confidence, develop practical skills and prepare for employment, get in touch with Spiral to express your interest. 🙌
