Early this morning we responded to a van that had overturned trapping multiple people. Crews worked in extremely muddy and difficult conditions to safely move the patients to ambulance crews. Using specialist equipment such as the rescue mule and jaws of life, this allowed us to easily and safely move the patient’s. Crews used the rescue mules from Nar Nar Goon, Loch and Pakenham SES rescues. Great Work by all crews, a great addition from the specialist response officer at CFA.

Training for different Rescue complexities is critical. Monday night we simulated a person that had fallen onto a metal fence and became trapped, using various rescue tools to release and move the patient. We also completed skills maintenance for industrial rescue using a range of hand tools and performed a CPR refresher.

🇺🇸 Remembering 9/11. 25 Years Ago.

On September 11, we remember the lives lost and those forever affected by the events of 9/11.

As firefighters, we especially honour the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to save others.

Their courage, selflessness and commitment to their community is something firefighters around the world will never forget.

From the members of Nar Nar Goon CFA, we stand with our firefighting family across the world.

We remember. We honour. We will never forget. 🚒🖤🇺🇸

Monday night specialist High and Steep Angle Rescue Crews from Nar Nar Goon completed a training scenario that involved rescuing a patient from the edge of a roadway that had fallen down about 25 meters. It was also an opportunity for our experienced crews to expand on their training and our new members to see the skill sets and equipment the brigade has to help the community.

On September 12th, members of the Nar Nar Goon CFA Brigade will proudly take part in the Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb.

This incredible event is about much more than climbing stairs—it’s about honouring our emergency services, pushing ourselves both physically and mentally, and raising vital funds for Lifeline, the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation, and the 000 Foundation.

Every step taken represents the challenges firefighters face every day while supporting causes that make a real difference in our community.

A huge congratulations to everyone who takes part. We’re incredibly proud of your commitment, determination and the way you represent our brigade.

Together, we climb with purpose. 🚒💙
