A big thank you to the volunteers who gave up their time to spread sand on the lawn at the fire station. 🙌

It's a big job and it makes a real difference to the place. We're lucky to have such a great crew who are always willing to pitch in, on the fireground and off it. Cheers all! 🚒

🔥🔥 87 Call-Outs in Financial Year 2025/26 🔥🔥
During FY 2025/26, the Narrogin Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service responded to 87 incidents across our district. These included a wide range of emergencies and community assistance requests:
🚒 28 Direct Brigade Alarm (DBA)🚗 14 Road Crash Rescues (RCR)🛟 2 Rescues🔥 9 Rubbish Fires🌿 1 Mulch Fire🏠 4 Structure Fires🌾 10 Tree, Grass and Scrub Fires💨 5 Reports of Smoke⛽ 1 Fuel Spill🛡️ 9 Asset Protection Responses✈️ 1 Aircraft Incident🚘🔥 1 Car Fire❓🔥 3 Unknown Fires⚡ 1 Power Line Down Incident

A huge thank you to all our brigade members who continually drop what they’re doing to respond whenever the community needs them. Your dedication, commitment and willingness to serve are greatly appreciated.

As these statistics show, road crashes remain a significant part of our work. Accidents can happen to anyone, at any time. Rural roads can be particularly hazardous, whether they're wet and slippery, or dry and dusty.

Please remember to drive to the conditions of the road, not to what you experienced the last time you travelled it.

🚗 Drive to Arrive. 🚗

If you drove through Narrogin last night and saw a lot of smoke billowing out of the Bushfire shed, don't worry - we were completing some BA training inside the shed.

As a volunteer brigade, we respond to structural fires as well as much more, so we need to keep our skills fresh and up to date.

This training was a simulation that involved four of our BA-qualified volunteers donning BA and entering the structure in teams of two to locate and rescue the trapped casualty inside. When we enter a structure, we lose almost all visibility, so we can only work by feel. Some of these photos show just how little visibility we have, even in training.

We consistently learn and train in a controlled environment so that when the real job comes, we know how to operate as a team to save lives in time-critical situations.

Last night our crews ran a simulated structural fire scenario, complete with full Breathing Apparatus (BA) and a casualty rescue.
In this clip, Team 2 makes entry with BA and rescue tools to locate and remove the trapped casualty.
Training like this keeps our skills sharp and our community safer.

For more photos and videos from the night, make sure you check out the second post.
