Paws, Stories and School Holiday Smiles 🐾📚

It was a paws-itively wonderful afternoon on Tuesday at the Mt Claremont Community Centre for The Great Greyhound Storytime school holiday activity with Greyhounds As Pets WA

Children and families enjoyed meeting four special greyhounds, Dottie, Lilac, Elsa and Clive (who has one eye), while learning more about these gentle dogs and hearing some great stories along the way from their owners. The kids also enjoyed readings of the much-loved Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy, featuring the speedy greyhound Bitzer Maloney, and Teddy the Most Beautiful Boy in the World, a heartwarming story about a greyhound who learns to embrace his unique appearance and love himself just as he is. 📖

A big thank you to Greyhounds As Pets WA and everyone who joined us! ❤️

🎤 Author Talk 🎤

When Pete vanished into the rugged wilderness of Tasmania’s Abel Mountains, it only took a few weeks for the official search to be called off. He’d been warned, they said. Mount Mercy takes people.

THREE YEARS MISSING.

TWO SISTERS SEARCHING.

A TRUTH THEY MAY NOT SURVIVE.

💛 Loneliness Awareness Week | Make Room for Connection 💛

This week is a reminder that connection often starts with something simple - inviting someone to join you in something you already do. Whether you’re looking to meet new people, learn something new, or spend time outdoors, the City offers a range of activities for all ages and interests, including:

🌳Bushcare groups - join local volunteers caring for our beautiful bushland reserves
📚Library activities - book clubs, tech help, children’s programs, language groups and more
Positive Ageing programs - walking groups, exercise classes, music classes and more
Tresillian Arts Centre - creative classes and courses where you can learn, connect and unwind

Loneliness can affect anyone, but connection can start with one small step. If you’re looking to get involved, explore what’s happening across the City and find something that feels right for you 👉 www.nedlands.wa.gov.au
