🎨🎶 Art, music and creativity with BILLY BOI YOWIE!

For the past two years, William ‘Bil’ Anderson has been attending The Vibe every Friday, developing his painting and exploring his passion for music.

Bil says: “Besides art, my Virtual Yowie Band is coming along nicely! I’ve produced heaps of songs with Grant and on my own at home.”

The Vibe’s Grant Walmsley (ex-Screaming Jets) says: “It’s always a pleasure to support Bil with his artwork, a true inspiration! Wonderful painter and EDM music creator! Our sessions are a highlight for me each week.”

Bil performs as BILLY BOI YOWIE, with an album titled ACCIDENTAL SYNTHESIZER SAVANT QUANTUM SUPERFLAT.

💙 It’s Invisible Disabilities Week (18–24 October) — a reminder that when a disability isn’t visible, it can be easy to misunderstand. 🧠

People living with an acquired brain injury (ABI) may look fine on the outside, yet face significant challenges with memory, concentration, communication and everyday life. Without understanding what lies beneath the surface, they can be unfairly judged or misunderstood.

Neil, Dayne and Jay are three of the men we support at Headstart ABI Services. They offer a glimpse into the realities of living with an invisible disability.

This week, let’s look beyond appearances, challenge assumptions and lead with understanding, patience and compassion.

🎅🎄 Santa’s workshop is already buzzing! 🎄🛷

With Christmas just a couple of months away, our Rec Group is getting into the festive spirit with some Christmas-themed woodworking! ✨

The group got busy creating Santa sleighs, reindeer antlers, stars, Christmas trees and more. ⭐🦌🎄

“I always enjoy this activity,” said Olivia.

A big thank you to the Newcastle Mens Shed Inc for helping make it all happen. It’s been a real little elves’ workshop, full of creativity, fun and Christmas cheer! 🎅❤️

🥞 Cooking up a sweet storm at Headstart! 👨‍🍳

Neil has been cooking up some delicious treats with CSW Gemma in the office on Tuesdays, including sugar-free brownies, cookies and plenty of other goodies! 🍪

This week, Neil teamed up with CSW Katie for a trip to Woolworths to buy the ingredients before making some yummy sugar-free chocolate pancakes. 🛒🍫

We asked Neil which treat was his favourite. His verdict?
“Yeah, pancakes are pretty good, but brownies are my favourite!” 😋

Brownies are the clear winner for this sweet-toothed chef! 👨‍🍳💙

🇺🇸 🚗 A trip down memory lane at Lost America!

Rec Group enjoyed an amazing visit to the Lost america museum in Thornton, exploring an impressive collection of classic cars, vintage motor homes, boats, motorcycles, bicycles, jukeboxes, collectables and other memorabilia from the USA.

Ken was blown away by the cars: “I couldn’t believe how good the collection of old cars is!”

And Kris summed it up perfectly: “That was really impressive!”

A fantastic day out filled with colour, nostalgia and great company. 😊 🚙 🇺🇸
