Heading to the beach as the weather warms up? You’re in good hands – they're some of the best around! 🌊

Each year, the NSW Government's State of the Beaches report highlights recreational water quality monitoring from across the state. This includes 17 beaches and swimming sites monitored by us, which were all graded as ‘Good’ or ‘Very Good’. 👏

🚧⚠️We are currently experiencing a water outage and low water pressure in Mayfield and surrounding suburbs. Our crews are working as quickly as possible to restore normal water supply, with water pressure and services expected to return to normal this evening.

Once water returns, some customers may notice discoloured water. This is a common occurrence following an outage and is usually caused by harmless mineral sediments being stirred within the water mains. If this happens, please follow the advice in this link: 🔗 hunterwater.com.au/dirtywater

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to restore services as quickly and safely as possible.

Here's what happened in September at Belmont Desalination Plant:

✅ Progress continued on the future seawater intake pump station.

✅ Underground pipelines were installed to connect key parts of the plant.

✅ Buildings across the site continued to take shape with fit-out and electrical works underway.

💧 Check out the latest progress shots and see how the project is coming together to help secure the Lower Hunter's water future.

We’ve published our first Customer Report Card, covering our performance from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026.

The report card was assessed by our Community Committee, who help ensure community values and customer priorities shape what we do, and that we deliver on our promises.

The committee makes an invaluable contribution to ensuring our customers, community and stakeholders are confident that their values and preferences are driving our priorities, and that we are delivering on our promises.

The report measures our performance against six Customer Outcomes and includes customer statements that provide additional insights into our progress and achievements.

Total water storage levels are 68.1% as of Monday 12 October, down 0.5% since last week.

The region is in for a scorcher today, with temperatures of up to 35° across the Hunter. Remember to stay hydrated and make Smart Water Choices.

Some good news for your lawn (and our water storages) - there’s rain forecast during the week, hopefully giving our catchments a drink. 🌧️

There's only a few more days to have your say on the Ironbark Creek widening and renaturalisation project in Wallsend, which aims to help reduce flooding while creating a healthier creek and more attractive space for our community.

I was proud to secure $10 million from the Albanese Labor Government for these important upgrades, following strong and sustained advocacy from the local community.

If you’re planning some spring DIYs, keep in mind your water meter access!

Landscaping, retaining walls and fencing can block water meter access. When we exchange a meter, our crews need to attach safety equipment which needs space.

Giving us clear space around your meter means faster, safer work for us and fewer delays for you.

Maitland Grossmann High School's Support Unit have brought their Love Water Grant project to life. They've created a water-efficient irrigation system across six garden beds and a closed-loop aquaponics setup, complete with fish and plants. 🌱🐟

This space gives students with diverse needs hands-on agricultural and scientific skills, while connecting with nature and each other. 💙
