Nikenbah Rural Fire Brigade carried out the night shift on Saturday Night / Sunday Morning at the Cherwell Fire, working on keeping the fire contained.

Our station was also used to host the RFSQ Training Development Unit over the weekend as they carried out the Prescribed Burning Professional Development and Train the Trainer Workshop - these workshops help develop the skills and knowledge of trainers within the Rural Fire Service.

Nikenbah Rural Fire Brigade was out and about on Sunday, teaming up with other brigades from the Hervey Bay area to build their skills in fuel load assessment.

By sharpening these skills, our firefighters can gather better information on the ground to help make better decisions when responding to vegetation fires. It also helps with planning hazard reduction activities to keep our communities safer.
